Ethanol and BSFC

Ethanol has only 2 thirds the energy as Gasoline,
Performance can suffer as content ( % ) of Ethanol Increases.
Without Advancing Ignition timing when using Ethanol BSFC will suffer Tremendously !!!

BSFC = Brake Specific Fuel Consumption
BSFC is a Better measure of POWER per fuel unit !!
A/F ratio and BSFC are not Equivalent !!!

Here is a good explaination and what it means to tuning for max Tq and HP
