Lol, no need to envy me...they are making deals on 14R's already, and even the stock wheels look awesome! Other than the BST's, just your basic mods!

Some of the cheap, but good looking, mods are:

Ebay tailight...around $50
Ebay signals....around $80 for all
Ebay fender elimiinator....around $20
Ebay Carbon Heel Plates...around $50

All of this stuff would be equally at home on a Gen 1, and look great too.

I have to say that I am very tempted to leave it at swb...

I really want to put a lot of street miles on it. On the other hand, it might be quite a handful at the dragstrip....

Shane, what is this I hear... are you selling your exhaust? What if any, are the performance differences between the CT MEG and the CT Single?

I know the exhaust is worth 35'ish pounds savings. Where'd the rest come from? Or is there already a thread somewhere? That's a very nice drop.

Thanks.

I am not selling my exhaust! I love it!

I am not sure on any performance difference on the 14R? The header is the same. Brock would know more about that after he completes his testing. What I can tell you is that the CT Meg is extremely light and sounds great. From the dyno work, it seems pretty strong too!

Exhaust 35.7
Extra Stuff (rear fender, toolkit, etc). 5.8
Pegs/Stand/Gas Cap 2
BST Rear Wheel Swap 9.9
Lowering links .4
BST Front Wheel Swap 6.9
Lighter Bar Ends 1.2

Total 61.9 lbs

I figure near 3 lbs for misc pieces I added back to the bike, such as the power commander and the fender eliminator.

I love the curves of the 14(R)....

That being said, I see some added wheelbase in my near future!

Yes, it is the CT Meg and it is short:

I think it is about the lightest exhaust you can get outside of a Tiwinder, at 8.1 lbs complete, on my scale. Plus you don't need a hanger for the muffler (a special one is included). It sounds very mean too.

She looks great!!! I really like the look of your exhaust. Is it obnoxiously loud for street use??? Thats the only thing that would stop me from getting that setup. If I can get by without alerting local law enforcement then I would definitely consider...

Thanks! I really love the Meg! It's a very loud exhaust, but Brock's may be able to install quiet core or similar setup? Seno tested that awhile back on the standard CT, and it made it much quieter while only losing 3 hp.

Very nice info and break-down. The wheel swaps are too expensive for me and I'm not interested in the lowering links or pegs/stand/gas cap but the rest is great info.

Much obliged for all the R&D. I'm glad to use it. Keep your eyes out for the check in the mail. Ha!

Thanks, again.

I posed this question to Brock, and here is his response:

quote:
The CT Single and Meg make about the same peak power (within 1-2 hp) with a slight edge going to the Meg, while the CT Single enjoys an advantage in midrange power and torque.

So, there you have it. Sounds like you can't go wrong either way. I chose the Meg based on looks and weight, hoping for a little more peak hp. Someone else might choose the Single based on sound level and midrange. Overall they are pretty darn close.

Shane,,,, a question about your CF heel guards. Did yours come with ragged / rough and uneven cutouts? I got mine today from the same seller and boy the cutouts look like poop. He is having me send them back and hopefully hand pick me some better ones.

The cutouts are ok for the price; you can see in the pic that they are not cut that well. This is not top quality CF. I had to drill the mounting holes out larger, just like my last set, so I knew what to expect. For my needs they are fine, but if you are willing to spend a lot more I am sure you can get much better quality.
