Chris ZX14R...you are a lucky man...a new 14R, AND an 04 ZX10R. You own the best versions of the 10 and the 14. That 10R is sweet...the stock exhaust combined with the ram air makes sweet intake and exhaust noises! Congratulations.

They look great, sibling rivalry! Rover in the background of the first picture is cute too... he's deciding which one he's going to piss on next, he's looking at the blue one...

Thanks gremlin. My best friend was telling another guy at work. " Every so often Kawasaki comes out with a bike that just spanks everything else out there. Chris just happens to have 2 of them"

Thanks i sure do enjoy them. sold my 2002 ZX12 back in 06 and regreted it ever since. zx10 is just not a road burner like the 12 or 14 is. its super nimble and requires alot more concentration to ride than a road burner.

Ok just an update on my impression of my new bike and comparison of my 2 current bikes. First of all i sold my 12R 6 years ago and have missed it ever since so riding this new 14R has reminded me of how a road burner feels compared to a liter bike. first few miles it was hard for me to get information from the gages. I am just used to looking down and center for all info on my 10R so a little uneasy at first. these two bike are like apples and oranges if you have ever rode a 10 you know what i mean, its a scalple in the handling department. and just thinking of a counter steering effort, it dives into a corner like nothing else. That being said i miss the handling of these heavier road burners and is very predictable with effort needed to steer it. at first i was a little disapointed with the gearing in first gear ( my 10 goes 100 in first) but once you get it into second shes a steam roller!!! second gear is just phenominal and will easily pull the front wheel. I love the gear indicator and is kinda required because of all the low end, It will easily pull out of very low revs in any gear. I can definatly feel secondaries open in sixth whacking it open from 4 grand you can even hear it like a thump as they open up. one thing i really like is the fact that power is so smooth coming on. its not like all of a sudden its making way to much like the 10 is. just keep rolling the throttle and it keeps pulling and pulling and pulling like its never going to end. I have to say this is the best bike of all time IMHO. yes its heavy but it needs to be with this much power on tap. I have tested the traction control in all modes and really like it. When it starts to react its not like it shuts down power abruptly, its smooth and was one of my concerns that has been put to rest. The riding position is very comfortable and i did a 200+ mile ride with no issues. I could ride this thing cross country. First oil change was same as others reported oil looked like brains in a bucket i suspect it all the assembly lube or maybe an additive they put in the bike. Mods will for sure be an exhaust, the exhaust has to go for sure its the only thing i dislike about the bike But i think i will wait until PC is available and get the whole package ( Brocks of course) Brock you Rock!! The chain has plenty of lube from factory in fact i have been cleaning back rim and undertail of the waxy mess and finally cleaned the chain to keep it from slinging off everywhere. One thing worth mentioning is the factory Metzeler tires are great and give lots of traction although the front seems to tend to follow inperfections in the road but feeds back well. The rake feels like a chopper compared to the 10 not saying anything bad here except maybe the 10's wheel is stuffed up under the front and feels like your riding a unicycle sometimes. The front suspension on the 14 is a little soft for first inch or so and only reason i am saying this is cause when you let off the throttle it dives down compared to the 10. I remember this on my 12 also and i believe is contributed to the weight and back torque of the engine braking. but no real complaints. I really liked the front brakes on my 12R (six piston calipers) and i have never riden a four piston bike since then that i felt the brakes were as good until now! these are really good breaks on the 14R and will slow you as fast as you want to the point of lifting the rear (+1 for the metzelers again). Over all i am so pleased with this bike and really cant wait for the weather to start really warming up. I do plan on taking it to the drags a few times as soon as they open for test and tune and midnight drags. (grudge racing here in Tulsa) as far as i know i am the only one in the area with this new bike. Dealership i purchased it from still has there second bike on the showroom floor (black). thats it for now
