why don't you make your own button from a micro switch from radio shack instead of using the horn button
- Tried that .. It will only shift under 3000 RPM , above 3000 no kill or ram movement .. Put all the kill time i could in the box and still no kill or ram movement above 3000 RPMs .. The only good news was taking the horn buttom out of the system the dash lights didn't flash on and off ..

Lee I installed the MPS horn switch on wifes gixxer and buddys beemer works great, has a toggle to switch the horn to a shifter button then back to horn operation incase you still want to shift with a button. I was looking at the mps autoshift and it says u can still use a button but correct me if im wrong...you need msd pills for the rpm you want it to shift in the auto function?
I really don't care if the horn works , so i can leave that out no problem .. I think i'm going with what Wheelie has on his bike ( MPS auto shift ) and just use the autometer RPM pills .. I have boxes of the pills left over from my race cars ..

Good news ... Well kind of good news .. My Evil arm came in and it looks very very nice , welds look great . Nicely Tig welded . .. I will have to see how it fits before i can say anymore about it ..But i did check the lower bearing holes and they have been honed and the power coat removed so the bearing will install without any problems .... Bad news the didn't sent the 3 hole axle adjusters .....So i'm waiting .....

I hate to see you having this problem, Matt is known for his good customer service. I've order 6 or 7 from him and have not had 1 problem. What I don't understand is why the ram won't move about 3k rpm, that shouldnt be based on rpm at all.

i've used the MPS auto-shift for years ..its the only way to go you become a slave to it .. but i do have a button also.. that way if i wheelie i can shift into another gear manually or just short shift it .. and when i get done with an 1/8mile pass i can upshift to bring the rpm's down.. biondo has a new box out that you can shift off time or rpm and set differant kill times for each gear ..

Since Matt will not call me i went to pay pal to get a refund ... I can still use some of the parts like the ram , tubing and CO2 system ( even the co2 bottles were old ones and not new i can still use them ) So all am asking for is 95.00 for the kill box and 35.00 for the wiring ..Total 130.00 dollars of the total 404.00 he got from me .. I feel that is more than fair for the 3 days of trying to get the unit working , plus him not willing to call me or help me ..

Lee, I refunded $202 total, half the total cost.

First off, I emailed you yesterday morning 1/4/12 at 6:19am with a few suggestions as what to check. You never got back to me. I emailed you again this morning 1/5/12 around the same time asking about yesterdays email, along with a few more suggestions on what to check, and stated I would give you a 100% full refund if we couldn't get it figured out.
Your reply...I smashed the kill box and threw it in the trash, thanks for nothing.

You trash my name all over this website and destroy perfectly good electronic equipment all because I was unable to call you, even though I DID corrospond via email early yesterday morning, and this morning? All this because you had to foot shift at the race track?

Yes, I said I would call after work yesterday, but I'm under no obligation to explain to you why that didn't happen but to only say family comes first, and if you don't understand that then you have more serious issues outside a non-functioning air shifter system on your motorcycle.

And how can you possible say the bottles I sent were not new? That is a complete flat out lie. EVERYTHING I send in anything I produce is brand spanking new, everything!

There's always going to be the possibility of problems with anything anyone purchases, but I've built my reputation on quality products and post-sale support. 99.99% of anybody that's ever bought anything from me will tell you that, some here already have. I'm sorry we never got a chance to iron things out and it came to this.

Matt

if Smokin destroyed a perfectly good unit, maybe letting others know why it wouldn't work will be helpful on future sales for the 2012 ZX-14r air shifter.

I did not ask for 202.00. I asked for 130.00 .. I felt that was fair ... The only parts i can't use are the kill box and wiring .. that came to 130.00 bucks .. The other parts will work just fine because they are the same parts that come from anybody selling an air shifter ..
Bottles , When i had them filled the guy looked at the date and showed me they were built in 2010 ... And they would be useable till 2015 .. He told me no way were these new bottles .. I had no problem with using them as they are , but i felt new air shifter should come with new bottles ..Again i didn't ask for a refund on the bottles ..

Understand Matt the guys here depend on my testing of parts for there ZX14s .. I can't and will not tell these guys something works when it doesn't ...I will not tell them it's an easy install if it's not.. .As posted in my first post it was an easy install.. I will not tell them a seller is good if i have problems with the seller .. A few members here talked you up nicely and i felt i would give you a shot and i did .. It didn't work out for me , but if others feel they want to give you a try they are welcome to do as they please.. Keep in mind i worked on this thing for two very long and cold days and nights and all i asked for was a simple phone call .. No phone number on your web site ? No way to reach you other than Email ? ..

Trying to be fair IMO would have been not bashing him because of an electrical issue. And getting to the bottom of what was wrong. Matt bends over backwards to make sure everything works on his kits. and if family came before your airshifter kit, can't blame the man.

I agree, I don't think this was handled properly by Lee, I know if somebody would have wanted a refund on part that they took a hammer to I would have NOT done it. Usually a refund is made when the parts in question are sent back to the seller.

Put yourself in Smokins shoes, he ordered a new swingarm that he can't use, he orders a new airshifter he can't use, he had plans last week to race weds, night so he is a little upset. Matt did try and resolve the issue.

I understand that too, you definitely expect parts you order to work properly. I have only been here a short time and have loads of respect for Lee and what he has done for bikeland (I myself have learned alot, reading old post), but I think it coupe have been handled better. Like you said though, I'm not the one this happened to, and can see why he was frustrated.

If I was him I'd be even more upset at the swingarm deal! Send a swingarm with no adjuster blocks! Electronics is a whole nother deal. Sometimes they are bad out of the box. In this case it just may not be wired to work on the new 2012.
