TRE for the ZX14R
I looked on my zx14r and the plug for the TRE are the same .. Wiring is the same as the Gen 1 , color codes are the same ... This should open the flies faster and not upset the T/C system.... This maybe a better idea than pulling the flies because you can still use the TC .. Pulling the flies may cause the TC not to work right ...
Note i have not tried this yet !! Wee has his flies out and i believe he has not tested the TC to see if it still works as factory ..
I emailed brock with this info , i asked if he could test this on the new ZX14R .. So we may have some info soon on what works and what doesn't .. Or what works best ..

Good News Wee .. Thanks for the info .. The TC must work with spark and timing then and not the flies ..

That would explain why mine was stopping at 10,000 when I had no signal from the rear wheel sensor.

Now we just need to come up with a way to get rid of the 186 limiter ... I'm thinking it will take two new wheel sensors ( front and rear) with less holes ..Or a reflash of the ECU ..

I really think that if someone could get an extra set of rotors and machine out every other slot the bike would think it is going half as fast as it is. If i get the parts and do the machining who would be willing to try it?

smokin does the bike perform better at the track when you get rid of the limiter or is that just for speed

To make our snowmobile speedometers read lower (and more accurately) we grind one or two teeth off the speed sensor pickup wheel. It's a 'star' wheel type thing that is about 3/4" in diameter with about 12 teeth or so and the pickup senses them. (looks like a little gear)
I have not seen the new ZX14 sensor and what it sees, but you could start with grinding off a tooth, or opening up a 'window', hence making it have one 'window' less.
Hope this helps spark some ideas!!!

I just wrote this in the other thread:
Reflashing appears to be the easier option. I was wondering though, since the speedo works on a dyno when the front wheel is stationary and no error codes appear, would disconnecting the front wheel-speed sensor and "speedo healing" the rear sensor signal be successful? You may have to switch off TC every time the bike is started, as it defaults to "on" but it's worth a try.
No bikes here yet so I can't try it myself.

Error codes do appear when on the dyno, after the bike is ridden stationary for a bit.

This will sound crazy as hell, however the wheel sensor is looking for multi slot count (windows if you will )to determine wheel speed. Why not try some 200 mph duct tape and shut the windows?? This coud easily reduce signal count coming from brake rotor that is going to the sensor and result in lower wheel speed being noted by ECU. Like I said crazy as hell.

I think it wouldn't work because the pick-up is inductive not optical.

All info learned from my 2011 zx10R
-2ndaries removed... no issues w/TC
-top speed limiter removed by DP Tunes or Ghuls
-added ignition timing addes by DP Tunes
-2ndaries replaced and open faster by DP Tunes
-TC no issues, but you must turn it off prior to drag racing, or running on the DYNO

He will need to grind off one window, making it have one 'longer' window. The sensor is simply counting windows and the less windows, the slower the ECU will think you are going!!!
This will work.
