Ill prob gey the noise plug as well, just in case. They are pretty good here. As long as im not screaming up the streets making a lot of racket, should be ok. Benefits of living in a small town.

What oil and addative you getting?

Hey guys,

I've not had a ZX-14 before, my last bike was a ZZR-1100 (ZX-11) which I sold back in 2005. Ever since I've been waiting for the right time and right bike to come along... it's all coming together for January 2012

I've ridden a ZX-14, and loved it of course! I also loved how fun the new Ninja 1000 is to ride ,but compared to the 14 it felt like a 600. A mate as a 2011 ZX-10R which was fun to ride hard but I prefer the awesome low & mid-range grunt that the big boys produce. The race replica bikes have to be sreamed up in the rpm range to have anywhere near the same impressive feelings the 14 can produce at the simple twist of the throttle in ANY gear.

I'm defintiely getting some new slip-on mufflers, but I doubt I'll make any other mods... the 14R is way better than my riding ability will ever be. Hardest choice is what slip ons to choose - those new Two Brothers ones are looking good. I hate the Akrapovic slip ons for the 14R. Would love to see Yoshi's TRC cans for the 14R be released.

Thats good Greggy and Cruiseerman my first 14 was great and the first mod was a16 tooth front sprocket, and a power comandar then the flyes came out,an a doubble screeen as well as a rad raidator guard pilots power tyres. i Akrapovic slip ons which where good quiet but every time i backed off blue flames would come out hehe. loved it.

When the 08 came out i wanted that as well all of the mods went on that bike except exhaust, i went with m4's slip ons an took the cat out an there has not been any more power since 08 to11 so now this 14r is going to get the same mods Two Brothers ones are looking good, the 08 had vortez sprockets 16 43 wich pulled awesome.

Yeah a 16 tooth front sprocket on the 14R would make sense to those of us (like me) who are very unlikely to ever do 300Km/h and are prepared to give up some top-end speed to get even more torque to the ground at lower speeds. I guess a speedo-healer would be required though. However until I've ridden the new 14R I will hold off thinking too much about mods other than the exhausts, as those stock cans have got to go! I'm in email contact with the sales department of Yoshimura in USA, just waiting on the latest update form lovely Lauren!

I test rode a 2011 ZX-14 several months ago and was very impressed - I remember thinking at the time of the test that it simply had too much power for the street... and that was a 2011 model... just imagine our thoughts once we get ont the 2012 model!!!!!!!

I'm so hoping to have it in the first (or second) week of January, as I'm not sure I can wait much longer than that without going nuts... its been a very long few months wait as it is.

16T front would be allmost rediculous. Guys in US are dropping from 42 on rear to 40 on front, just so they can get a chance at WOT in first. 16T front would make it harder to ride IMHO

I wonder if the new 14R needs a speedo healer if you change sprockets... as I would have thought since they have accurate sensors on the wheels now they could pickup the speed of the bike from say the rear wheel sensor and not the drive sprocket.

That would mean we could use any sprocket combination and still have a (fairly) accurate speedo.

I must say a 16T front sprocket is growing on me.... maybe I should ask my dealer to fit one from new THE GRUNT!!!!

How does speedo heeler work? Looking at service manual, cant see output speed sensor on output shaft. Mite get speed reading from wheel speed sensors? Might be a while before they have something to derestrict them.

Guys I'm picking up my new Black Spark ZX-14R on Saturday morning... to say I'm just a little excited would be a massive understatement This will end a nearly 7 year drought on two wheels. So glad I went with black, as they told me again the Green ones are another month behind.

By Saturday night I plan on having a few hundred Kms under its belt for sure. Look out Aussie Busa riders... Greggy is a comin!!!!!!
