zx14 on a MotoTote?

Has anybody ever put a zx14 on a MotoTote? I bought one a while back to put my zx10 on, long story short I sold the zx10 and bought a 14. I'm military and left the 14 in Oklahoma over the winter, heading back to Oklahoma on leave in January and really want to bring the 14 back with me, but it is at the max of the MotoTote 550 pound limit.

I had a trailer lined up to use but it fell through, and the mototote is my last option. It held the zx10 just fine on the same trip (Louisiana to Oklahoma) but the 14 just worries me a little.

Cody from looking at the picture that mototote looks pretty stout, but if your worried could you weld some additional bracing on and is the part that slides into your receiver solid or hollow, if it's hollow than get a piece of metal that will fit into the tubing and weld it in. Then when you get time just repowdercoat or paint. just my .02

MotoTote claims 550 pounds, like I said the 14 is very close.

Just like trucks and cars have towing limits in owners manual, nobody ever towes more than their vehicle is rated for? Manufacturers usually put a lower number to things than what they can really handle. Just let common sense determine its not gonna break just putting it on the carrier, I would be more worried about what kind of tongue load your receiver is rated for than the moto tote itself. IMO

The jeep is rated at 750 pounds of tounge load, When I get to Oklahoma I'm just going to put it on the tote and see how I feel about it. Was really hoping someone had used one on a 14 to ease my mind a little, lol.

If the tote is rated @ 550 you can guarantee there's a large safety margin built in for liability purposes. With a near empty tank and a full exhaust you should be well under the 550 anyway.

You will be fine..
Did it with a lesser carrier rated for 500 lbs, but I did mod it a bit for peace of mind.
Reinforced the hitch tube on it, welded an extra plate across the bottom of it and put way to many straps on her.lol
But the trip was effortless and as a bonus, no trailer to pull!
The trip was over 800km's , no issues at all!

i've even seen it done with a zx14 with extentions on it .. he had to mod the carrier to make it longer to get both wheels on it ..
