Ever been run off the road, or tailgated....

Over the 50 or so years I've been riding, have had some very close calls with "crazies" either trying to run me off the road, pass me on the same lane I am in, tailgate me the freeway at night within just a few feet, make u turn right in front of me or pull out from a stop sign right in front of me.
Still not sure what is the best plan of action, or inaction to take....thought about keeping a hand full of 5/8" nuts at hand, then again, maybe just try to avoid these "idiots"
Any suggestions on this or input??

I have always wanted to get my conceal carry license so I can legally lift my shirt and show what's there. I bet they would back up then. But I have mostly just avoided those folks. Sped up or changed lanes

I usually increase my aggressiveness on the road with them as a result. I don't mind taking out a side mirror and then talking off, rolling off, waiving for them to catch back up, then roll on em again...split lanes...roll off, wait for them to catch up, and keep doing it to them again....sometimes its fun to slow down switch lanes, watch em flyby and then come back around and smash the OTHER mirror....the ol' yo-yo rendition.

If you also stand on the pegs and give them a yawn while walking away it makes them feel worst...hopefully they will make a mistake and take themselves out.

Use your size and speed to your advantage. I had one guy keep tailgaiting me, I gave him a brake check and then ROLLED THE FUCK OUT!!!!! Just so he would know the mofo he was tailgating was way out of his league. You can twist this scenario back around, roll off and wait for them....and do it again.....just so they know whatsup.

Unfortunately we are at a dis-advantage on the road except for performance in most cases. Almost everyone that has decades of riding experience and hundreds of thousands of riding miles under their belt have experienced countless situations where cagers have intentionally or un-intentionally taking advantage of this fact. There have been occasions where their infractions where either severe enough or seemed to be intentional enough for me to display my disapproval but in most cases I just chalk it up to experience and am glad to have once again escaped the ravages of some idot that don't know how to or care to drive responsibly. In "Absolutely NO Case" would I display the fact that I am armed. If the situation got so out of hand that I was in fear for my life and had no alternative the muzzle flash would be their first and last knowledge that I was armed.

I have my carry permit and a carry badge (looks like leo) pinned to the holster.
Still had the cops called when i did a timely stretch to encourage a aggressive driver to stay out of my lane. Guy told the cops i pulled a gun on him. LOL.
It worked out for me, but it could have gone the other way. Be careful

Just because you have a CC permit doesn't give you the right to flash said gun. That will land you in jail and have your permit revoked!!!!!!

In all states where a permit is required to conceal a handgun it is a crime. It is called "Brandishing" a firearm and it is illegal and will result in your permit being revoked if convicted. It actually doesn't have to be intentional to be considered a crime that is the reason you have a permit to keep a weapon CONCEALED! In states where "open carry" Is allowed "like Texas I think Wee" the crime committed in the earlier scenario was hiding the firearm in the first place. So basically in all 50 states you committed a crime

You don't want to do that. A concealed license is to do just that,,,, conceal. You aren't supposed to present in any way that you have a firearm on you unless you are preventing a provable felony or protecting yourself / family / business from a felony itself.

I speed up and put distance between myself and the moron in the cage. That defense I think would hold up with most cops.

Agreed! Only time you show your piece is when you are ready to pull the trigger. Flashing a pistol is a felony!

in the land of the free ..and being pro gun.. this is why i always state to my Friends why the Arabs (middle Easterners) have more freedom than us free people.. they can go into the streets of any city and fire their guns.. try that in downtown New York or boon-dock backwoods small-ville and see what happens..

as a kid 13 to 17 years old i remember walking down the road with a .22 in hand to go hunt rabbits off railroad tracks in the sticks.. MY SUPPER... now days you be a terrorist and shot or tazed by the police.. and sentenced to 20 years by a judge..

This is another bad law. First of all there should be no concealed carry laws. The right to bear arms shall not be infringed.

By specifically stating which rights we have in regards to bearing arms they are limiting our right to bear arms.

After reading all the great comments...I have one more thought about what to do with those "nasty cagers" when they become unruly....just give them one big "moon shot", me at 67 y.o. doing 80 mph or so on the freeway might have a slightly hard time getting my drawers down to my ankles, and even a more difficult time getting them back up, that is of course unless I am riding "side saddle" ....leave it to the squids would maybe be best for me!!
BTW: Would that be considered illegal ie. ..flashing a concealed weapon without a permit???

A few times I have been tailgated, the most memorable was a pissed off highway patrol cop..... Cop got right on my ass following me, within 6-12 inches of my rear wheel and followed me for 3 miles in the HOV lane before pulling me over. Yes, he had a right to pull me over..... Got on parkway, hammered it 1-4, then crossed over median and went into HOV, a few min later this dude was on my rear tire... Yes it was me who instigated it But road was not crowded, didn't see any cops. Normally in a situation with someone tailgating me I hammer it and switch lanes. Cop told me he had taken 2 bikes that day & mine was going to be number 3..... DENIED!
End of story, read me the riot act, I called his boss who called him (while he was writing me a book), he pulls up rolls down window, throws my license, insurance & registration at me literally and burns out sideways.....

Was on a 03 ZX9R with changed gearing -1 +2, so probably only hit 80ish.... Wanted to clarify that because on a 14 that would have been 120ish... No I do not ride like that on public highways....
