Lee good job man. best I've ever done was a 6.2 @ 122123....but of course the bike was lowered, geared and lightened up. I'm impressed with the et and MPH.

Stock wheelbase is HARD!

What do you think it will take for you to squeak 8.99 on the stock arm?

A.
. This bike with 197+ HP should run a high 8 second pass ..The trick is finding the right way to do it .. Some how i have to figure out how to make this bike run the front half ( 1/8 mile ) in the 5.90 zone .. The bike has power to take care of the back half all by itself .. Biggest thing is getting the power on real early and keep the wheel flat on the ground .. It can be done but it will take the right timing of the clutch and throttle as well as shock settings ... The thing i need most is to learn what the bike wants from me as the rider and that takes seat time and lots of it ..

Lee/Shane/Wheelie..........you guys have ridden this bike, do you guys think this as as good as it gets for a production bike?

I just cant see any manufacturer delivering MORE RWHP than 200 in a production bike.................if I were to equate this to the muscle car era I would say the horsepower wars are OVER, its 1970 and the LS6 454 just came out...........I think Kawasaki just cemented its position as the badest bike out there just like they did with the ZX 11 and like Suzuki did with the Busa in 1999.
Mike no , i do not think we have seen the end of this HP wars. I heard this same thing back in 1979 with the CBX busting the 100 hp number .. 1969 Hemi roadrunner 425 HP .. 2012 Hemis are making 479 .. We may see a slow down on how fast they raise the HP but they will never stop making more HP as long as there are dollars waiting to buy them..

Well I'm sure we will see refinements and with TC maybe a little more HP if Suzuki ever comes up with an answer, my bet is it will take them 3 years but my point was unless you are stretched on a good track could the majority of mere mortals use much more power if its that hard for really good riders like Rickey, JT, Whellie and you to use that power SWB..............maybe some $$$$ SE with alot more HP set up for dragracing but I honestly see this as more of an endgame than a beginning of a horsepower war..........that 479 took over 40 years and that required all kinds of new technology to achieve on low octane pump gas............I think with this economy and with gas likely to be between $5-$12 a gallon the next 10 years 210RWHP is probably it for a fairly low volume mass produced production bike like ours.

Lee - Can you show the tickets with traction control - I am trying to see its impact on performance. Also - sinc e the TC runs were the first and you were getting the hang og things..... do you tthink you could lower your times with TC on as you get more familiar. Also - any thoughts on how TC would impact bracket racing - do you think it would enhance or hurt consistency?
Thanks,
Kevin

Sorry i tossed those T/C tickets ... But 6.50 on TC 2 and 6.40 on TC 1 .... I'm sure i could have gone faster with a few more runs on the TC levels .. Keep in mind i have not rode a bike at all for over a half a year .. It should work good for bracket racing ... Even better would be to use the Power Mode switch ... Put the power switch in low HP mode and it should be deadly in a bracket race ..

For some reason when bracket racing late model cars with TC,they vary tremendously with it enabled

mathews you may be right .. I'm thinking it would be better to use the power mode and not the TC controll ... The power mode cuts power down 25% .. That should make the bike very easy to ride compaired to full power ..

Great job, you will be getting faster & faster with more seat time... Considering you have not ridden in half a year and a few health issues... that is unbelievable... Hopefully you will feel better soon! I am really amazed how fast the new bike is, unfortunately I am one of these guys who will never be that fast cause I want around 225ish.... Congrats again man, great job!

Seno,

Don't sell yourself short... I'm 215 suited and ran 9.20 stock wheelbase/foot-shifting my 06 14. I plan to haul ass on the new 14R once it's all said and done.

Haha, you mopar guys crack me up.. my WIFES Cadillac makes 560 HP...the HP wars are booming. You can now order 580 camaros and next year 650 ( you read that right) mustangs right from the showroom floor with a factory warrenty. If Suzuki wants to keep the Busa the flagship model, they will eak out a few extra HP from a motor of sim size as our new beast.. I welcome it, competition makes the breed stronger.
