Considering your health issues and the shoulder problem I think what you did was outstanding! Not to mention being away from the track for so long.
I'm glad you got a chance to play with it some Lee, things will definately improve as you get time in the saddle again.

man, I really wanted to get over there last night (I'm in Orlando on business). Just could not swing it.
Great job lee....I need to see about making some passes on one soon that is set up. I'd drop another tooth off the rear making a little longer wheelbase, and should make it much more managible to ride and get to WOT. What did you do to the rear shock settings?
I'm pretty sure we can get into the 8s on stock motor and even on stock wheelbase with the correct set up. I got pretty close on mine at SWB.

Lee good job man. best I've ever done was a 6.2 @ 122123....but of course the bike was lowered, geared and lightened up. I'm impressed with the et and MPH.
Stock wheelbase is HARD!
What do you think it will take for you to squeak 8.99 on the stock arm?

. This bike with 197+ HP should run a high 8 second pass ..The trick is finding the right way to do it .. Some how i have to figure out how to make this bike run the front half ( 1/8 mile ) in the 5.90 zone .. The bike has power to take care of the back half all by itself .. Biggest thing is getting the power on real early and keep the wheel flat on the ground .. It can be done but it will take the right timing of the clutch and throttle as well as shock settings ... The thing i need most is to learn what the bike wants from me as the rider and that takes seat time and lots of it ..

I reset the rear shock to where it working pretty good ..But as i push the bike harder i may have to make changes .. Video or a spotter to tell me what is going on as i leave the line will be helpfull .. Teddy is pretty good at spotting problems and letting me know what i can't see or feel.. One thing i do know as a fact is the bike needs to be lower than i have it right now .. I need more of the weight moved to the front wheel ..I'm going to drop the front a bit more before the next trip to the track and pitch more weight on the nose .. Test and tune , that is what it is all about ..

Good to read about you at the track and doing what you love...

Yes Sir i set the bar pretty high with my 09 zx14 .. My best at stock wheel base was 5.89 @ 123 .. 1.49 60 foot ... I had more than a few low 5.90s runs also ... Those were in pretty good air and i knew the bike like the back of my hand .. This new bike clearly makes more power , the question is can i use it ...

clearly the dyno shows it makes more power.. but have you ran it over the scales yet to see what the weight differance is .. my jury is out until the proof is shown on the time tickets..

Friggin' 5.89 @ 123 is nutz for SWB. I'll be out tonight trying to outdue my 6.30@118.5 but I'm so out of practice it might just be a waste of time.
Impressive!

Lee/Shane/Wheelie..........you guys have ridden this bike, do you guys think this as as good as it gets for a production bike?
I just cant see any manufacturer delivering MORE RWHP than 200 in a production bike.................if I were to equate this to the muscle car era I would say the horsepower wars are OVER, its 1970 and the LS6 454 just came out...........I think Kawasaki just cemented its position as the badest bike out there just like they did with the ZX 11 and like Suzuki did with the Busa in 1999.

It's as good as it gets right now.
I mean, it is a big leap, imo. But something faster always seems to come along. It has always been that way...

Mike no , i do not think we have seen the end of this HP wars. I heard this same thing back in 1979 with the CBX busting the 100 hp number .. 1969 Hemi roadrunner 425 HP .. 2012 Hemis are making 479 .. We may see a slow down on how fast they raise the HP but they will never stop making more HP as long as there are dollars waiting to buy them..
