H9, H11 2012 ZX14r?m
Hi Wheelie,
Are you able to confirm for me please that the ZX14R takes H9 for high beams and H11 for low beam? Want to buy HID kit for my low beams. I pick up my bike in Jan, but website im looking at has sale till xmas eve. Also, where is the best place to mount them? My kit comes with 50cm extension cables. This will be my first 14, so not entirely familier with thier layout. I assume they are similer to the 12? Thanks in advance for your reply

Hey Wheelie,
Did you have to shim the high beams down? If so, what method did you use? I'm looking to put HIDs in my 07 and I keep hearing about shimming the highs. I just can't picture how that'd be done in my head and I don't want to tear it apart until I at least have a good idea how it's done.
Thanks!

yes the lows do need to come up and the highs come down, I just raise the lows and leave them. But shiiming the highs down is a good idea, I'll see what I can do...

Any pics on "shimming" the high beams down? Curious to see what is involved. Turned lows up 3 full turns and now they are good, but highs do not seem too effective.
BTW, I bought http://www.ebay.com/itm/HID-Xenon-Kit-9005-9145-H9-H3-9003-9007-H1-5000K-9006-/260657270121?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3cb0624d69 and this dudes service is excellent, one bulb had a light flicker to it and he sent me a new pair free of charge in like 2 days... Cant complain
