Good very good ... My butt dyno told me 180+ on my short ride ... 188.8 with only 200 miles is great ... Would be nice to put some more miles on it and change to Syn oil .. I bet it goes 195 hp

Oh yes brock said to tell the dyno guy to let some air out of the rear tire .. I know that goes against what most dyno guys say to do but brock said this bike spins the tire on the dyno very easy because of the extra HP TQ .. Worth a try .. On my Dyno with Roys big motor making 198 HP it would smoke the tire on the dyno .. We had to let it way down to get it to hook up ..

we used 6 large straps on my bike when I had it on a mustang chassis dyno. it was starting to spin just a tiny little bit over 23psi of boost. i also had a shinko hook up drag radial on it...

My 1270 spun on Jim's dyno- let some air out. Don't use Royal Purple, your clutch WILL slip. Use amsoil, Alisyn, something synthetic for bikes. Pull the air filter and I promise it will make 3-5 hp more minimum. The bike will make 190-195 next time you go.

I use to have a 2001 ZX12R. On Jims dyno made 163hp and the change the oil to Royal Purple on the dyno. Made 5 more HP to the wheel!!! ZX12R are notorious for going thru clutchs!!! Had a 2 stage nos shot 30hp1st 30hp 2nd. 228hp 212tq @wheel!!! and only went thru 2 set of clutchs!!! wheel base was 60in. Drag race from 2001 to 2003 3 to 4 times a week. Best time was 5.90 @ 126mph. Qualified 2nd in bay town 60in bike class TX Shootout back in 2002. Pump gas stock motor no lockup! What really help was i install a vaccum pump. From 9K to red line it over 200 HP!!!! So same mods for my 14! Jim as all my dyno sheets.

RuRu,
What's this vacum pump? Are you saying that you installed a vaccum pump on your 14r and it netted over 200 hp? What was the A/F ratio on your dyno runs. I saw the sniffer in the exhaust pipe.

Thanks for posting and confirming what we are already thinking.
Any chance he mentioned what a 100% stock Busa or ZX-14 makes on his dyno?
Would love to see the chart.

I can tell you that Jim Dino is a long ways from happy. I think the best way of measuring horsepower is using the quarter-mile back half Time, I realized that the front half has a direct effect on what the bike does, but it's still a conservative estimate, because if the front half is quicker. The back half Will also be quicker. take RG back half Time of 3.129 et and use the appropriate front half ET that goes with that back Number and you have a ET of 8.58, use the weight of the bike and rider, @ 550 four the bike, 170 four, the rider = 720 pounds total weight, put that in a power to weight ratio and you get a hp of 225 with ram air I'm not saying it made that, that's just what the calculator said and I have found it to be conservative. take 15 hp off for the ram air gives you a horsepower of 210. Kawasaki did not build these bikes to make horsepower on the dino, but rather going down the road. I think that's why the gen 2 busa showed the same horsepower as the 14 but couldn't stay up with it at the track.

A few questions, I was qualified at the 02 Texas Shootout too in SBS.
In the 60' class there were only two ZX12's there who qualified top spots. Chip ellis on the red 2000 1286 nitrous bike and Rickey Gadson on the 1361 dry shot 02 blue ZX12. This was oct 2002.
Don't you mean crank case vent instead of vaccum pump, we all did those on our 12's. What color was your bike? Silver?
I'm trying to remember who you are. I had 2 ZX12's at the tracks regularly from 2000-2003 and really only remember racing 1 nitrous bike and it was silver. Of course I'm talking locally, you may not have lived and raced in the Dallas area back then??

NO!!!! Install a V.P. on my 01 ZX12R. It made only 5HP!!! But what really help was the adv. HP and TQ! 8K to redline it made over 200TQ!!! I block off the motor and put on a electric V.P.
