Measuring wheelbase.

I'm currently sitting at SWB but running 16/39 the rear spindle is right back in the slots.
I was wondering how to measure the wheelbase accurately.
Do you guys use chalk marks on the floor or rods through the axles or some other method?

dunno about measuring, but you can use gearing commander to calculate changes to swb.

http://www.gearingcommander.com/

fill up data and check "Chain geometry changes due to sprocket & chain changes" then look change from "Sprocket Distance" field.

The problem is the fairings and motor stick out farther than the axles do

I use a framing square to mark the axle center on the ground and measure between them.
