Truth be told?
If any of you haven't checked out Rickey Gadsons FB page lately. There's a post from a guy Shawn Malanaphy basically stating we at Bikeland are a bunch of idiots and he can't believe how we would discredit what Rickey says about the new bike and how we tear apart our own brand. Etc etc etc etc.
Rickey replied " I can't believe it either and that's why I haven't Been back there since"
And to think of it. Maybe Shawn was right. Maybe people are forgetting the real reason we are all here. And how we should be greatfull to have such a iconic rider and someone who has done more for Kawi and the brand than any of us have to even frequent the site. I mean really. Wtf ! It made me happy just to see him sharing info with us and you got guys in here like Vultures ready to tear apart anything anyone says. It's kinda senseless really.

No, it is not . I have no animosity towards Rickey Gadson, so I want that known right off. RG is getting what you get when you want to be an outspoken personality in a particular sport, criticism. After years of hype of certain motorcycles, the BMW for instance, nobody believes just anything that someone says about a bike where a particular individual has a vested interest. Sorry, these guys are not that stupid. The truth about the 14 will unfold quick enough, but we just dont believe everything we hear or see.
Another thing, why should we be greatful to RG? I dont see what that is about. Nothing against the man but, ???? The serious guys here are not hero worshippers. If anything RG should be grateful to us for buying 14's so he can continue his relationship with Kawasaki. Without us buying bikes, what do they need him for?
NOBODY, has been better towards us than fellow 14 riders who freely share info that we all seek.
Rickey, I'm sure you might be reading this and I hope you can check that ego and take this stuff as it comes. It is criticism and Kawasaki gets criticized by us more than you do.lol

Boo Friggin Hoo, who gives a flying F$%K about what anyone says here that may offend someone. We are all adults and are entitled to our own opinions. Sometimes people may not like what someone says, guess what, live with it........

Or be a hero worshiper in your terms, Just respect the fact that he was trying to give us info. Which I clearly see that was his intent and people were trying to discredit him and basically telling him to F off until weve seen it for ourselves. I wasnt pointing out anyone in particular And dont even remember all involved. Don't get me wrong I take no mans word for nothing I have to see it myself but there's a way it could've unfolded to make the turn out a tad different. That's all

You have just attacked me in your 3rd sentence. I wont tuck tail and log off the site because of it. I have asked Rickey questions and they were ignored and I aint holdin' a grudge. I just have nothing to be grateful to him for and it has nothing to do with my character. There a few people on this site who know me personally to back me on that.
Things could have unfolded differently but didnt. RG needs thicker skin thats all.

as i said before.. RG gets paid to do it..it is his job.. did not get anywhere with his videos on youtube either..
looking forward to people like smokingzx14 and others here to give us a real good feedback about the bike... and by the way wheelie has done a great job for us so far and he will be on a track today with the new zx14r..

It wasn't a attack towards you nor meant to be. I understand numbers from a pro jockey mean squat. I'd rather see numbers from riders like myself who hit the track occasionally. I don't expect to buy a 2012 and run his numbers. But it was his comparisons that mattered. If he ran 9.5x's on the 06 stock and 9.3x's on the 2012 stock then that was what was meant to be shown. Right? Not that hey the 2012 ran 9.30's and all of you should go buy one as a sales pitch which is how I took people as perceiving it. Maybe I'm wrong. But again. Nothing towards you bro, maybe I should've left my personal opinions out of the OP and just stated what I ran across.

I did not think anyone was attacked personally, sorry if Rickey felt that way. For me it was more about the bike and how the info on our new flag ship was released.
Started Off a little scary with a heavy new bike with only 6 hp lol. Then to ten or eleven then to what Only Now looks like 21hp over previous years. Maybe Kawi had there reasons for down playing but seems like real a rough way to start off a new bike.
Maybe Rickey was out front and took the brunt of that early info, not sure but things looking Great now as New info from the guys is starting to flow in. I must admit I did not expect to hear Rickey was taking his ball and going home. That info a bit of a shocker.
Any Way Can't wait to pick one up. Cheers to all of you who keep the flow of info alive.

Well i have mixed feelings about this hole thing ..I feel Kawi handled the whole thing wrong keeping us in the dark .. Ricky had a Gag order put on him by Kawi so he did what he could do without getting in to trouble with Kawi .. I'm sure most of you can see how lame the first Busa Vs ZX14R video was from Vegas and should have never been filmed like they did.. .. The second Video from Vegas was very very good and told me all i needed to know about the new ZX14R .. Brock and Ricky got the bad end of this deal from Kawi .. Testing at Ga should have been done with a production bike like the one used in Vegas .. Brock and Ricky did the only thing they could do and run the Roaring Toys bike .. Myself i think They should have stopped with the last vegas Video and called it a day ..
Ricky , Brock please come back , the dust is starting clear and we need your input on this new ZX14R ..

I think that anyone who participates in an online forum needs at least two things to survive. Firstly an understanding that whatever they believe or say there will be people who don't agree. Secondly they need a thick skin.
Anyone who will only stay while everyone else agrees with them is asking for it, showing weakness and won't last five minutes. I think this is a real shame because I was interested in what Rickey had to say and I think I can make up my own mind about it.

Agreed sir! In no way shape or form was I trying to take away from the great riders we have here. I have learned a lot since 08 when I joined the site. Yourself, Shane, wee just to name a few have contributed countless threads of very valuable info. It just bothered me to see Rickey say something like that. But then again BOB ^ said it best. You need thick skin to survive. People on the net are ruthless. Lol. It would just be good if we had Brock and Rickey on the hometeam if u know what I mean. I'm sure they could contribute some good stuff

what are you so concern about?? did rickey's run on zx14r made you make your decision to buy the bike? NADA..
i am sure he is got better things to do than hang around here..
as smoking said and i agreed 100%, the kawasaki told him how to play the game to get paid and he did.. it ain't his fault..
there are bunch of people here that there are as good as him and they give you their honest and true feedback + more!!

Personally I have found this to be at times a very negative place, and at others a very good brotherhood.
IMO I think we should all ride more and type less, unless its a conclusive, helpful, or positive post.
But thats just me.... I have far larger problems in my life to worry about.
I come here to laugh, help, learn, and share the sport I love.
Ride on brothers, no matter if you own a zx14 or a new zx14r, it will always put a smile on your face, and if not your already dead!
