14's rolling out in NY
Got my 2012 14R today... Left it at dealer due to weather but picking it up Friday... Can't wait, looks so much better up close, suspension feels good for a 225lb rider and a Flash to pass switch added.

I am on Long Island, across the water in the first picture is Connecticut. Today the first 50 miles I broke into a couple of segments. 3 or 4 runs at 50% going through the gears and letting the engine do the braking. Then let the bike cool for 15 minutes. Rinse & repeat 75%. Then 100%, not hammering it aggressively but smooth & steady. Traction control kicked in a few times, 2nd gear is pretty brutal and the front gets pretty light. I rode for 5 hours today, and the seat was awesome.... So comfortable. There was no more clutch noise when the bike was in neutral and the gearbox shifted very smooth. Brought my wife for a ride down the wantagh parkway today and the bike kept wanting to go faster..... Don't want to say how fast I went but it was more than double the limit. In a nutshell very impressed!

The Wantaugh parkway south of Merrick Rd up to the needle is a hard stretch of road to keep it slow going. I spent 34 years on Long Island (24 in Freeport alone) and I really don't miss it. I'll take S.Florida even though I rode a lot more miles when I lived up in NY. You may need to hit the Ocean Pky jsut east of Jones Beach one day (after the human dumping grounds have quieted down some) for a higher speed impression.
BTW,,,, don't ask me how the Meadowbrook Pky feels at 155 mph in a 77' Chevrolet Monza. I wouldn't be able to tell you lololol!!

nice video..looks like a nice ride! just a suggestion.. looks like you keep your bike very clean.. take off that key chain.. you are going to get alot of scratches on your upper clamp..u probably already know.

Thanks, I do but appreciate you looking out regardless. Boring little blast, too many cars on the road to mess around. Weather permitting going to hit the north shore (all twisties), and take some video tossing the bike around. Ordered an extension for the camera mount, to raise it a couple of inches, hopefully it will improve the view.
