Well i did it ....2012 ZX14R SE

I just put 500 bucks down on a new ZX14R SE .. I didn't get the deal that Lucky and Wee got in Dallas .. I had to pay a few hundred more than they did ... These dealers suck around here .. The dealer i used for years sold out to some chain outfit ...So now i wait and wait till it shows up ..

First thing i'm going to do is lower it and strap it and run the bike with the stock exhaust just to shut up the busa owners that aready think the new zx14 can't beat their old assed Gen 1 or Gen 2 busas .. After that i will test the pipe i got from Bently .. I'll have to wait for Dyno Jet for a P/C and Brock to build some maps and then test them ... After that add 62 inch wheel base and install my air shifter ..

I will do each mod one at a time and report the outcome just like i did with my 06 and 09 zx14 .. We race year around here so i'll get you the info pretty quick .. This should be a lot of fun to see what this new bike will or will not do ..

Any bets on the numbers for the first test ??

Congratulations!! I can say 9.00s strap and lowered and 8.90s possibly 8.80s when you put the aftermarket exhaust

9.20's..then...lower

Smokin:

We have a mutual friend (SteveWFL), but of course have never met. That said, having seen all your video's, I expect you to go 9.20's once you are used to the launch the 14R likes versus the "old" bike given your home track and race weight. Would not surprise me if you go...low once you are "acquainted" with your SE. Down the road curious to see the 17/40 effect given the torque. Your ahead of me as my deposit is not in yet (Jan). Will be following your journey.

Rip it up.

wonder who will get theirs first? I'm trying to be all modded out my first trip to the track, air shifter, lowering links, strap, chain, and data logger waiting to be installed, if I could be sure on the old 14 swingarm fitting I would buy a Mcintosh today, 2011 zx10 pc if I have to, Brocks Whizbang and me don't get along so a CT will probably be coming but I will wait and see what he makes. I'm betting no V-Max will want any piece of you on your first pass.

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

I don' t know about the ET's, I think 62" won't be enuff length to let the clutch go. But I will pedict your trap speed will be 155 stock pipes and 165 with full bolt ons. Nothing too unbelievable about that. That head pipe Kaw put on that new bike doesn't look all that impressive. So what, it's larger in diameter, but the y- pipe is way too far forward to be compared with any of the aftermarket headers. You will pic up the same if not more then the old zx14 by changing to a full system.. So bolt-on's I am betting are going to allow this big motor and new head/ cams to really make some power. My Dyno predictions are 210 solid and 220 if you shave the head- SAE

Congrats Lee I am sure you get that thing down to 9.0-9.1 before adding the pipe and pc after seeing what you did to your 09. I just think it will take some getting use to with the increase of tq/hp. I am thinking you may need a bit more than the 62wb possibly 64wb would better suit you. Given the fact that the bike did add a bit more to the rear suggest Kawasaki has something up their sleeve. My only complaint is that I wished Kawasaki lowered the bike about 1.75" this year to meet the Hayabusa on their platform. I think we are still sitting a bit to high and that it should come stock this way. Keep us posted on your results. I am thinking now of trading mine in aggggghhhh!!! Someone stop me!!!!

Sounds like the night before Chrismas when your a kid.Remember when you sill believed in Santa Claus?I remember in 1975 when I bought a new Kawasaki 900.Had to get a ride to the dealer and I was so stoked.Since then I bought three new bikes including this one and the feeling is still the same.
