replacing clutch

when the clutch goes on the zx14 do you have to replace the steels and the fibers or could i just change the fibers ? or is it best to change the whole clutch

I went for a CC clutch and have no complaints... Much cheaper than stock and it has held up to lots of abuse.
Aftrer you get fibres check your stack heaight. This is taken from ther maunal
Clutch Plate Assembly Length
Standard: 53.52 ∼ 54.52 mm (2.11 ∼ 2.15 in.)

Hope this helps

how do you know if the steels are warped, the clutch only has about 50 passes so i guess the steels should be good . this started happening after i installed the brock spacers all 5 i guess the extra pressure finish the clutch off

Extra pressure shouldn't "finish off a clutch".

Also, for what its worth, if you drag race stay away from the Cycle Concepts and just go OEM. They are not really that much more expensive, I ordered a set from Adam's last month for $190 I think.

What problems did you have with the cycle concept clutch?
Was planning on getting them next. Always heard they were better than stock.

Not better than stock, I got less passes out of them than I did the OEM units. As far as performance though, they were about the same.

Lay the steels on a flat surface( glass plate works great ) & look for raised areas. They should be flat all around.

Cycle concepts clutch has been fine for ms as well. I put it in last November and I haven't had a bit of trouble out of it. Cut consistant 1.37-1.38 this weekend making 3 back to back to back passes multiple times throughout the day.
I would buy another one for sure.
