You can shift up & down like normal... Only difference is you can also go WOT and shift without the clutch (must use your foot, its not automatic). They do sell an add on product that gives an output for downshifting if you have an ECU that will blip the throttle when downshifting http://www.hmquickshifter.com/products/product.php?id=37.
I never even knew Motomummy had them... I got them directly from the distributor but paid the same thing (with the shift rod (didnt fit) & free shipping).

Also BTW, you need Rearsets of some sort.... The Dynojet "Dynojet Universal Tie-rod MALE M6 to MALE M6", is the perfect size for it on the 14 with Vortex Rearsets. I used a ninja 250 rod off a brand new bike... Have to return that as soon as I get my Dynojet rod in.. LOL, there is a bike on the showroom floor with no shifter hooked up....

Thanks Seno.
So when you do the clutchless upshift, do you need to close the throttle?...or can you leave it WO and click up to the next gear?

Lsantana, yes you will need aftermarket rearsets and a shift rod.
Rook, Yes WOT and shift... No need to blip or close the throttle. I didn't want an air shifter or another Dynojet quick shifter so I came across this unit and it's really wonderful. I'll take a video of it in action as soon as its warm enough.

Cool, man! 1 or two more questions if yu don't mind.
If you want to use the clutch, do you need to deactivate the HM?
If I buy a track bike, I would not want to need to buy a second one of these things. Can the HM be removed and installed on a new bike if the proper wiring for the HM is also installed on the new bike?

Rook, Yes you can use the clutch, anytime you want... Nothing to shut off..... You can definitely move it from bike to bike just get a 2nd loom. Issue is the bike will NOT run without HM connected.... Not a big deal because it only takes 2 secs to plug-in. If I was going to move it from bike to bike, I would put a male terminal on each bike to ground and just add a female terminal on the HM unit.... There is only 1 plug (loom) & 1 wire (ground) to connect.
Lsantana- I got the HM Quickshifter plus YK. Motomummy has them for $500 I believe, best price I have seen.

2002 zx12-> Buy whatever you want it's your money... Glad you had a good experience with the Dynojet Quickshifter, I on the other hand did not.... The new unit looked cheap & felt cheap, now they are made out of ABS plastic... And have no threads at the top.
Rook-> LOL. No I wanted all black and it was not available...
