Now keep in mind that i ran 8.70s with only a 174 HP .. What do you think i could run with 200 HP ?

There is doubt it's going to go, but be honest, were you not hoping for a bit more. I for one Was thinking all new suspension, zx-10 rear link, big piston front forks, Lighter weight. Yes I bought into the hype . 200 Hp perfect ok but shave 10 lbs off last years model and look out. would have been sweeeeeeet. Not to mention what the after market will do. Anyway,,, More info on it's way. Cheers.

What were they (kaw) thinking with traction control without ABS as it sounds like drag racers don't care about TC so just who wants this combo. I street ride quite a few miles and would like the option of ABS but no not even an option 6.5 lbs extra I don't care.

Romans I got everything i wanted and a few items i didn't want ... I wanted less heat on the rider and i got that .. i wanted two fans , got them .. I wanted a bigger engine and better head , got them .. I wanted more wheel base , got it .. I wanted the bike to ride and drive the same , got it .. I wanted a bike that i could swap parts off my old bike , got it .. I could do without the extra weight , but with a pipe and remove a few things that i allway remove anyway the weight will be close to the old zx14 ..

parts swapping is a maybe .. that 2mm increase main bearings kinda screwed that pooch..

Well you can swap the hole motor .. But i wasn't talkin about that , I was talking my lowering links , strap , swingarm .pipe....
You know that crank will be made to fit just by turning down the mains .. Boring the cases to make it fit is to costly ... Any good crank grinder could turn the mains down and the cost will not be that much .. I'd rather just buy a motor off ebay and swap it into a cheap 06 zx14 ..  2012 motor in a 2006 zx14 ... Sleeper !!.. I wonder if the heads and cams will swap ? If they do ebay is going to be very busy ..

yeah i know a turn down on the crank ..but I'm also wonder about the cam chain gear spline part being they beef all that up too.. and will the cam sprockets swap.. only interest i have is using a 2012 crank or cases with 2006 rods and 2mm taller deck turbo pistons.. roll some boost to that baby

if you go to Brock's website it says that all the exhaust for the zx14 fits from 06-12 so I assume that some of the other items from the previous generations should fit the 2012.

Lee's being realistic Romans......sometimes folks expect stuff and lose touch with reality lol. The insurance companies and governments are not getting any easier on high performance bikes, and with stricter and stricter emmissions and sound laws, and higher prices on materials to make these bikes, I think they do pretty well giving us the performance they do while still keeping the bikes reasonably priced. If they produced the kind of bike some folks want they would be out of business because most folks couldn't afford them. I think the bike makers are afraid to really rock the boat hp wise anyways, and I'd rather have the power we do now than start losing it from regulations.

Maybe being realistic but C'Mon I can't be the only one that feels let down. Ya it's a nice bike but is it really what you guys had hoped 4. I was getting one. Sold my 2007 ZX-14 with all the bells and whistles to buy this bike. Now,,,,,don't know..... Ricky just posts "test" WTF. Why the games. If the #'s are wrong that's Great News so lets here it ?

Romans I'll be honest, I feel a little let down myself. Kawi really hyped the new 14 up big time, and I was feeling the exitement like everybody else. But I like the look of the new bike a lot, and I bet its going to be even more of a blast then the current 14. My only real complaint is the price, not so sure its worth it. I'm going to wait a while before I buy, and then probably low mileage used, my 07 runs like a raped ape, and its nowhere NEAR wore out yet.
But I'll have a ZX14R eventually....

I can see many have never built or rode a bike that's been stroked and compaired it to the original. You got a 1441cc bike for 2012 people! WTF you want? a 300HP 1600cc prostock motor? Kawi stepped up big time and gave the new bike a 4mm stroke, which I thought would NEVER happen!!!!
