The Red Bull car which led for the first lap missed a gear on the straight which is what allowed me to get by him with such ease. For the rest of the 9 laps he was right up my exhaust and very visible in my mirrors!!

Watching the video, I see how consistant you are...Niice!!!
My question is does the boost blow the tires away at the same RPM every time?...Seems that your short shifting most of the time...
I've also noticed your a little more aggressive in your RPMs in the S turns, but you can be 500-1000 RPM higher in all the other turns...Then that redbull car wont have a chance!!!
Im sure you have a tach, and are you able to see it clearly?...Did you ever dyno the car and check to see how accurate the tach is to the dyno?

Straight speeds are between 130 & 140 MPH. The straight is up hill and not that long compared to other tracks. Could keep picking with higher gearing and a longer straight.
Thanks crotchrocket for the interest. Tach on the car doesnt work. Being a centrifugal supercharger, there is no sudden woosh of boost, power delivery is very smooth and it reaches highest boost at top revs and the boost curve is a perfectly straight line since it is centrifugal and pulley driven.
Kibblewhite valve train, Falicon knife edge -2mm rods and MTC tall deck pistons are all fantastic components which seem to giving the reliability!

John, thanks for the video it was fun to watch. one thing I was wondering will they allow you to have a auto shifter it seems like it would free up some time for you and some of the shifts looked like you were losing some time, you would still have to downshift but when you come out of the corner all you would have to do is drive.

That looks like an awesome way to spend track time.

We already run a flatshifter on the car which allows full throttle clutchless upshifts and clutchless downshifts. Gears are still changed manually via gear lever as per regulations.
We are now fabricating a new exhaust sidewinder manifold to remove the heat from under the sump which in a ten lap race is boiling the oil in the sump and ending up going over the finish line with the oil temp at 140 degrees celcius!! New exhaust should take the heat away from the sump. Will let u all know how it goes.
Someone on this forum once complained hi sMTC pistons that went after a few 1/4 mile passes...........this car running flat out for a whole weekend at a time with 11.5 psi of boost has ran the same MTC pistons for over a year now and still going strong.

Hey John,
Awesome video!
Glad you have had good luck with the MTC pistons.
Phil at MTC are great people to deal with!
You should send them some info, and pics, Im sure they would appreciate it, and might help your discounts on future parts.
I think Robert was using the wrong pistons High compresssion Nitrous pistons in a boosted condition is NOT ideal, and additionally he was likely detonating bad to squeeze the ring grooves shut.
