Racing a turbo busa next weekend...

Guy is building a turbo busa, supposed to have it done this week.

He's been talkin shit to me since the begining, because he knew i was running 8.20s last year, and this year with a stock motor i'm obviously not that fast. So he knows he (should) be able to beat me.

I've got a race set up with him this weekend. I know he wont be able to ride it, he was having problems riding with a stock motor.

I figure, this will be his first weekend with the bike. I dont think he'll have a chance in hell to beat me (he weighs 230 lbs i believe).

What do you guys think? BTW i'm going to switch to mrx01 for this race.. Going to get mapped for it this week sometime

I think it all depends on the rider and setup. He needs to suck, be as big as a rhino, and/or have bad setup in order for you to win.

Street or track, that is pretty much the story.

Where are you going to run him I might have to go check it out. If you can get out on him pretty good
you have a good chance on beating him. Its going to be hard to hold him off on the big end though

At thunder valley.

Guy is pretty big, and i'm sure he isn't going to turn the boost up on his first trip to the track. On mrx01 i think i should be able to trap about 152-153. I can also 60' in the mid-high 1.50s.

Being his first time at the track on a turbo bike.. I dont think he'll be able to launch it well at all. And on low boost, with a heavy bike and heavy rider.. I dont think he'll trap much higher (if any) then me.

normally I would say that even with a bad rider he would run you down on the big end. But knowing all involved he wont be able to.Make sure somebody gets a video of it LOL

+1 love to see this regardless of who prevails. Good luck.

I imagine if it was all he could do to handle his stock bike, the turbo isn't going to be used to it's fullest potential.

Been way down.. All the classes are struggling, the track is covering most of the payouts. street and pro et are probably the only classes covering their own payouts. 9.50 and 9.90 probably are close most races, but 8.90, 8.20 and open class are short every race..

Buddie of mine just got his turbo busa done and first time out he ran .9.34 at 162 he weighs 298 unsuited, boost was turned down, max boost he used was 14lbs and that was not until 4th gear. I think he had 6,8,10 then 14 rest of gears. he had a 1.81 60 ft.

We could always use more bikes at PMRA, I think we brought half the bike count at the last race, lol.

as the owner of a Gen 1 Turbo Busa and weigh 220lbs. I can muster some high 8.0"s in the 1/4 mile with 18-20 lbs. of boost. But the turbo bikes are very hard to ride until you get acustomed to them. You better tree him and have a big lead early. If not he will drive by on the big end like he is out for a sunday ride. But like above, depends on his setup and what kind of turbo system he has. A stage one? you might get him. .
