How much is my turbo zx14 worth?
What a good asking price is for my bike.
06 zx14 with 12k miles. Clean and clear title, I am the original owner, and I bought it new with 0.5 miles on it in 08. It was assembled out of the crate the same day I purchased it.
Passion Red
Turbo kit:
Cycle logic partial turbo kit
20g turbo (good for 400+ whp) starts building boost before 4k rpm
Tial 38mm external wastegate
Ceramic coated turbine housing
Blow off valve
15 psi boost gauge
AEM dry flow air filter
Fuel system:
100 psi fuel pressure gauge
Walbro 255 lph in tank fuel pump
700cc Bosch injectors
Engine:
Cometic .070 head gasket (to lower compression to 10.29:1)
APE adjustable cam gears
Carpenter valve springs
Muzzy PAIR block off plates
Adams boxxed and lowered oil pan (holds almost 6 quarts of oil)
OSR oil cooler block off
Gann 2 stage lock up clutch
Modified clutch cover with aluminum hat
MPS racing air shifter (spark kill)
Power Commander V
Dynojet Auto Tuner
Chassis:
Silver zx14 wheels (got rid of the poo brown wheels)
DRZ-2 chain
Evil chromoly 7-11" over swingarm
Trac Dynamics racing shock with 10 KG spring
Soupy's adjustable lowering links
Brocks lowering links for front
zx10 front fender
Tiger Racing undertail
I'm sure I've forgotten some bits, but the jist of it is this..... It made 252 whp on 6psi. The bike isn't perfect, but it's clean and never been down. How much should I expect to get for this bike?
$8,000...... $9,000....... $10,000????

You have a turbo kit that has to be 5$k new
evil arm 700$ if its braced
lockup clutch gotta be 550$
shock 300-500$?
Air shifter 500$
Those are all things that could be taken off and sold right away. Not mentioning your electronics and other non stock items.
If the bike is put back to stock or with a full system it will bring 6$-6500$ all day in texas if the miles are low.
S0 with all that said, sell it complete for 12 on ebay or sell parts and sell the bike stock.

I had mine sold for 8500 about 1.5 years ago. Same bike same mods but in blue. But I spun a bearing on the way home from showing the guy the bike. It was on a Saturday and he was gonna get the cash for me that following Monday. So needless to say I didn't sell the bike lol

I need a buyer for my 06 model too- 6550 miles on it. I could dump mine off for 6k and give him 2k$ cash(I have in my pocket). For real, I just watched an 04 Bus with a turbo and pretty much the same shit sell for just under 12xxxx.

I'd say $8,000-9,000 MAYBE $10,000 to the right person wanting the bike. The new 2012 is coming out, and suppose to be faster. If that happens it makes our bike like the 1st gen Busa, not worth a lot of $$

01 smokes, a Mr Turbo blow thru is 2500$, Does he have a slapped together kit? I dont know, but just the extras can be sold seperately so why sell the bike so cheap becuase everything is on it?
eklipse636, those gen 1 busas are still bringin in the cheddar, but yeah, the right buyer for a turbo bike I agree. Lots of oeople would be afraid to buy something they feel has too much power. A velocity street kit or something from NLR could be sold at a discount-if thats what he has on that bike.

It's only worth what someone will pay .. You can ask 12k but in this market i don't think you will get any calls .. I would put it back stock and sell the other parts ...You will end up with more cash in your pocket that way ..

Why does it always happen when a turbo bike is elaborately built it ends up for sale soon after? What's a piped 06 with 30K on it worth? I always figured if I lived at altitude I'd build or just install a 5psi turbo no fancy extras.

In my opinion, Lee spell the formula out correctly.... by putting the bike back stock, you can get 5-6k for the bike, 1800 to 2k for the turbo kit, 4-5 hundred for the arm.
The Cycle-logic kit is a below standard kit when compared to a velocity kit, for 4 to 5 k Jones performance kit out weigh the kit you have. His design is built for expansion. Your kit it not.
All and all, if you sold the kit to a person that wanted a 14 with a modified street kit you should look for 7500 to 8500 fair market value.
I have owned three turbo bikes and I seperated them all to get fair market value

Kaw now- I was thinking the same thing. As much I want a turbo, it seems that shortly after they have mechanical problems or on the selling block

my cyclelogic kits header hasn't crack to shit and turbo fall to pieces in 50k miles like my velocity kit did in 23k miles ... my fmu hasn't been touched even running E85 ..when i had to put 2 kits from begi in that fmu.. and my plenium ain't blowing off either .. so yeah that cyclelogic kit is real junk ..

I was referring to the turbo kit itself, the Garrett turbo are some of the best MFG, as for your header cracking I am not sure.... The cyclelogic kit is not equal to the velocity stage one kits.
you can rep what you have, but pound for pound the velocity kit make more power and has less issues. I didn't have a FMU on my last kit. On the my zx12, It was a Muzzy kit, on my busa it was a velocity stage one an on both zx10, I used Garrett turbo, one kit was home made and the other was a velocity kit.... go pound sand.... the kit is what it is.... equal value as a velocity or Jones or NLR kit.... good yours held together... now go pound more sand

you are lumping velocity, jones and NLR as equal value. Not even close. I have heard and seen alot more velocity headers and turbo housings crack and break.

i'll go ahead and say it.. it's not worth anything. Its worth less then a stock bike. If you're lookin to get out of it, i'll go ahead and sacrifice and trade you.. straight across. bike for bike. I won't even make you pay any extra. In fact, instead of meeting halfway, i'll just drive all the way to you. I'm making a terrible sacrifice here, but i know how hard it is to unload a bike with no value. I'm just tryin to help you out here.

It's always been my plan to sell it this year. My wife and I are going into the peace corps to sub-Saharan Africa, and it looks like we will be leaving February 2012. I don't need a bike sitting in storage for 27 months, so I'm getting a sense of how much I can ask for it.

If you have that much time before you leave, put it up for 11 or 12 now. Then you can always show drop later if needed.
