Washed bike, now it runs horrible!

I had a great ride, came home and washed my baby. I dried it off and was going to go get dinner and it wouldn't start. So I look and all my plugs are hanging out near the front sprocket. Great, the dealer didn't tuk them in I thought. (Got it back a month ago after a guy at work backed over it) I've had issues before with the speedometer if they get wet. So I dried them with some compressed air. Still nothing. So I waited till this morning to try again. Still wouldn't start, unless I turn the idle up. It has a miss and sputters! I rode it to go get some fresh gas incase I bought bad gas somewhere, but only got 2 gallons in it. I was hoping to get more into it!
so after taking some plastic off I notice oil on the left of the head. It looks fresh. . Bad head gasket? Bad gas, or electrical? I get a little black smoke during start up too! Any help would be great! My ninja keeps me sane, its the only thing I have left. ( long story)

oil leak head left side

Same problem here. Recently pulled head cover to do valve adjustment. And found that the 6 head cover bolts were all very loose. I think the gasket would have been fine if I would have just torqued the head cover bolts to spec. Be worth your while to try that first before you buy a new head gasket ~$60 + ~ 100 more if you have the shop do it for you + they might rip you off and just retorque and charge for head cover pull and gasket removal/install. + they might do a shit job for you again like last ttime. DIY is a great way to go, mon frer....if you have the time.

Bike won't run/ runs poorly won't start/connector leads wet hanging out on left side above sprocket cover--

Had a similar problem after installing SpeedoHealer which inlines between speed sensor above engine sprocket cover. Happened when I was riding and Seemed as though top speed fuel cut got activated on error. Right after I washed the bike w water. Speedo stopped working. Bike was fine after I shut it down and restarted.

I think you are on the right track with your assessment that it is wetness on the connectors. Hope all it is is that it needs to dry up. Mine prolly dried quick from engine heat and wind while riding. I did not shut down as I was on my way to work and di not wan to be late.

I never figured it out. I just unplug the ecu and have a fan blowing on it and a fan blowing at the area above the front sprocket over night. And it is fine in the morning.

Try and spray the plug connectors with CRC - multi purpose product ,it drives and seals out moisture from electrical & auto ignition systems fast.Don't know if you guys have CRC in the states, any spares shop should have a equivalent can.
