how hot is it ?
as I was traveling through downtown Dallas tx today the thermometer gauge on my truck hit 114 at 1 PM so yes it's hot around here. I have recently seen some posts about engines running hot and rightfully so. I thought I would post some notes that I have about the bars on the 14 dashboard as to how hot that really is. Bar 1 = 68° bar 2 = 122° bar 3 = 176° bar 4 = 230° bar five = 248°and flashing. the thermostat starts opening at 136° and is fully open at 167° the fan comes on at 203° and shuts off at a194°I have recently put engine ice in the motor anticipating the hotter weather but I'm not sure if it helped because the weather is so much hotter this year but I think it did. they claim 15 to 20° cooler on average. I can't be completely sure if that actually happened but it seems to be running okay considering how HOT! it is.

My AC just went out in my house and the thermostat says 92 inside. I am going to be a miserable fool trying to sleep tonight.

MOTEL ROOM OR WALMART WINDOW UNIT ..
Walmart also sales a portable unit you can carry from room to room. Once you fix your A/C use it in your motorcycle trailor.

That sucks, but you could get the portable Ac unit and be cool next time at the track...

230F is 5 bars!
Thas just ridiculous. It should never get that hot idling around town but it does.

230F is the start of bar 4, 248F is the start of bar 5.

It's hot enough that the fan on my bike almost never kicks off unless I'm running 70 mph or better for a few miles.
It's hot enough that I have not touched my bike in 4.5 weeks. There's no pleasure to be had when you soak the helmet liner so badly that it drips out from the bottom.

I know what you are saying. At the track Saturday, the air temp was still at 92 at the stage lanes at 10:30,pm according to my kestrel thermometer. It is supposed to show DA from what I heard but I have no clue how it works since I got it used. 80% of the passes I made the temp gauge was all bars but the flashing one. The hand towel I was using for sweat was soaked and useless about that time as well..

is about 95. Our German Shepard looked out "His" doggie door and poped his head back in.

We've been 33 (i think) days consecutively over 100 degrees. It was 109 today.
Next week though, theres supposed to be a cool front.. it's only supposed to get up to 100 next wednesday
