I'm tired of the BS....
My email is full of questions about this... and many phone calls.... so I'm sorry I have to even post this and have to respond..... I really hate to do this but....
I'd like to thank Brock Davidson for photoshoping the competition CNC sponsorship sticker off of Rickey Gadsons record setting 206.7mph 2011 zx10 he and Richard ran at Loring this past weekend. The photos were taken by a track photographer and doctored to remove our sponsorship sticker and then released to Dragbike.com.
I guess he feels Competition CNC doesnt deserve any credit and Rickey should not have put our sticker on the bike.
http://www.dragbike.com/dbnews/anmviewer.asp?a=6598&z=13
They set two records this weekend. Way to go guys.
We developed a new cnc ported head last week and scrambled like hell to get the CNC program written and the head done and back on the engine so we could get the engine back to Rickey to get it back in the bike. It was crazy last week to say the least. and i'd like to thank everyone that helped us pull this off.
The green bike had the ported head on it and the black one has never had the head off.
Just to set the record straight on this other thread below that i have been reluctant to post the truth about....
http://www.bikeland.org/news-story.php?newsID=61701
Brocks Performance has never sponsored or had any involvement what so ever with the zx14 land speed owned by Competition CNC and ridden by Rickey Gadson last year and this year that is mentioned in Brocks emailer to his vast customer base and articles on dragbike.com or here on bikeland and the other sites including his own site.
http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?TID=61709&FID=27
There are a lot of details to all of this that would make you sick to your stomach as it has me over the last several weeks and months. I will not go into it all on a public forum but you would be appalled at whats been going on.
I even took off the Muzzy name plate off of of the header on the bike for the Loring event at Brocks request as a compromise with Brock so he would be ok with Rickey riding competition cnc's bike again this year.
To be fair its not a Muzzy pipe, ita a pipe we hand made at the shop and it only had a Muzzy collector on it. so i thought that was a fair compromise that Brock had asked for.
I'm tired of being strong armed and marginalized and to be blunt " shit on".
heres a pic of the doctored picture of the green record setting 2011 zx10 with outr new cnc ported head on it....

Aparently the photo has been replaced on the dragbike.com site.

Jim the picture i posted was right from your link you posted above .. If you click that link the photo clearly shows your logo .. I don't understand where you got the picture without the logo , did someone send it to you ? Maybe someone copied it and deleted the logo and sent it to you ? Maybe just to mess with you ?

Lee, it has since been changed on the Dragbike site. Many racers have noticed, believe me. I'm not exactly sure why the logo was photoshopped out, but it was.

I can understand why Brocks would not want to post that logo on their, nobody likes to talk about hidden speed equipment, and if he paid full price for it ? I guess he has the right to do that. But it sounds like he did not.

I saw the before and after pics on dragbike.com. They were different for sure. Sure seems like a pretty shady thing to do IMO.
Hard to say "oh it was an accident or a mistake."
I mean come on. You have to go in and consciously edit the photo. I agree with Jim. Seems like some BS to me.

I know Jim and I know Brock but I don't know what is going on here.
Last year when Chad set records on the KWS BMW they photoshopped out the "Kawasaki" that was on his leathers and obviously we understood that but this is way different.
I also would like to know why this happened.
Another thing about the article that frost me a little. The title states that Bill, RG and Richard set new records like they were the only ones, no mention of all the other folks.
Here Charlie (glarion) drives across the country on a shoestring budget, sleeping on the ground, etc. and he shatters his class record by 10mph and no recognition.
I was absolutely thrilled to see Bill, RG and Richard set records but they weren't alone.

I know Jim. He's done a fair bit of work for me.
I don't know brock, although I have one of his pipes on my 14.
Sneaky underhanded things like this really stink. It's a very bad reflection on brock to say the least.
Let's see what he has to say about it?
Wouldn't surprise me to see that he's lost some customers over this, or maybe he's so "big" now that the little guys don't matter?
That seems to be the "way" in america now, I hate to say it as a fellow american, but it sure seems like it.

Jim,
To prevent confusion, a cylinder head porting company logo was removed from BROCK'S PERFORMANCE P-R shots for advertising purposes. We remove unassociated business logo's from racers machines all of the time... its standard industry practice and 100% our prerogative. We PURCHASE the shots for OUR marketing use and have the right to change them in any way we see fit to promote our business. We specialize in BOLT-ON performance… head porting doesn’t fall into our ad campaigns.
FYI: Racers sometimes add “personal sponsor” stickers to their bikes in return for product, services or monetary consideration which conflict with our ad campaigns. If so, and these stickers are not discussed and approved in advance we simply remove them. For all we knew, this was the case with your sticker, we didn’t know and Ricky lost his cell phone… so we took it off. It’s that simple.
The shots were then submitted to dragbike.com, after obtaining approval from the photographer (as he holds the copyrights,) as a FAVOR to them, the Gadson’s and the racing world.
At this point I’m STILL not clear on which bike or rider set which record on what bike – it’s old news at this point so I won’t be doing any mass media release.
Starting before the beginning of the weekend; I was on the phone/e-mail/Facebook messaging and PayPal arraigning payment and receiving my shots by Sunday evening… Then I paid my graphics staff to touch up, color balance, brighten and enhance the photos--it’s A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT of WORK and expense.
Why don’t YOU TRY putting in the effort YOURSELF next time, or maybe sending an e-mail to clear up the confusion, instead of crying in public…
Brock
www.BrocksPerformance.com
P.S. I’m not sure why after reading this, but I had dragbike.com fix the shots (after Rickey called on Monday night explaining that there was ANOTHER ZX-10 present, not two green ZX-10’s as originally as believed.)
As far as the 14 goes… my support goes WITH THE RACER. I offered you products to try to HELP RICKEY this year and you turned them down. All you wanted to know was what I would DO FOR YOU…
Dan – racers need to understand that the mags don’t go HUNTING for guys who set records, and obtain shots, etc… Have Charlie LET US KNOW! We would love to tell people who he is and what he did… I don’t know him, and neither does Brandi. I told them about Bill and the Gadson’s because it’s a part of my business, AND because both of them contacted me while at the race to let me know what was going on. Contact editor@drabike.com to submit a team report of just a note and photo.

Somebody please read the top 2 paragraphs. So a basic summary is that if you don't grease Brock's hands(get pre-approval), then your decal is remove! What's the difference if the, "Product received, services or monetary consideration" is received from Brock or the Racer(s)? Oh that's right I forgot the main ingredient, greed!
Furthermore since the copyright is owned by the Photographer, why not get on a three way conference call with CNC, Brock and Photographer to see if everyone is cool with the chioce(S)?
Brock- If you had nothing to do with a portion of a bike, why remove the decal of the company that did? You don't have to promote a facade, WE ALL can see your decals!!!!!
What ever happened to the gentleman's rule? Before Photo-shop and other software programs, companies were forced to mengle and share rightful wealth to other supporting companies on a project. Now, software options has enduced greed, selfishness and plain untruth!
