Bob i was WOT in first gear at the 60 foot mark at stock wheelbase .. it's not easy but it's 100% doable..

Lee, how much rpm were you bringing it out with??
3500 worked best for me at stock wheel base..

Jesse and i both had are stock shocks set all the way in and then backed out a 1/4 of a turn .. That seemed to work well for us light weight guys ... Brock and Ricky G told Jesse that he needed a revalved shock to go fast at stock wheel base ... So Jesse got a revalved SS shock and i installed it for him ...Jesse never could do anything good with that shock .. I tried riding his bike and the shock was just too damn stiff on the lowest settings..I think Jesse sent it back to Ricky G ..

The single biggest thing i did to my bike to 60 foot at stock wheelbase was to add the 17/40 gears .. I could add throttle just like i did at 62 inches .. In fact i was suprised how fast i could go WOT and not wheely .. I wish i had some video at stock wheelbase with the 17/40 gears .. I think i do have a video at stock wheel base with 16/41 gears where i ran 9.30s but i was having wheely problems ..

This was with 16/41 gears ..

It took me almost a month to figure out the launch when I dropped a tooth off the rear. Could not believe it would change the launch that much but it did. Almost gave up and then I found the right feel for it. Once I had it down, I could run 1.55's all day long with it being limited by the rear shock. Just could not apply the power any earlier.

Steadman Motorsports sell a bolt on wheely control box. not sure how it works but I think it uses an angle sensor maybe. They say it works really well and you never have to let off the gas after you go wide open.

yea i may try that. Hey nelson how low was urs in the front

I lowered it 1.5" thru the forks, had a lower profile tire, plus strapped it down when racing.
I had no more than 2inches of ground clearance when racing. Never punched the oil plug thru either.....

Yes , can't you tell .. lol ... I use the clutch , i never could do that blip shift without missing gears .. You can hear in the video right when i pull the clutch in and bump the limiter .. I use the clutch but keep the throttle pinned ..

Can you run 16/38 with the stock chain?
The reason I ask is, having changed the front 3 times it's been an SOB every time and
I don't want to change it again.
More importantly if there is enough adjustment it will maximise the wheelbase on the stock arm.

38 seems like there may be too much slack, but i've never tried it. If it's too long you could always cut a pair of links out and put one masterlink in.
