I MISS MY ZX-14

Anyone going through sellers remorse????? i know i am. My wife is kicking my ass everyday about that one. She enjoyed getting on the back of that thing. I am seriously thinking about getting another one as a second bike. I just recently seen a 14 done up by my local parts manager. He had me remembering the good old days. He had a beautiful setup. Suspension upgrade and all. It sucks because you have to spend the money over again. Maybe ill find one used....tsk tsk tsk....

Maybe you can find your old one... I just bought my old zx9r back almost 4yrs after selling it. lol

I have it tore down and am fixing it back up.

Never shoulda sold it... It's been abused and someone took off and sold the 41mm flatslide carbs... only replacements I've found are $1400!!!
Won't sell another one again. I'd rather have a garage full of queens and a couple riders.

Now..................... I miss my 1998 ZX9R Metallic red no busy decals. Had 4/2/1 exhaust, tricked out CV carbs, larger tube in ram Air messed with the box, K&N........ we had a new Super Flow Eddy Dyno with the air/fel probes. But we did not have enough air running into the ram air to preasureize it. Takes a lot of guessing out of tunning 4 carbs for the street. Jon Minnimo Dyno tuned it back then at D&D Exhaust
in Fort Worth, Tx. I was in my lates 40's and Sales manager/Tech Support ....best job ever while it lasted..... owner got old..happens to all of us... Fun bike, sure was a Lot lighter then my 14 ............Damn I miss it......... Long Summer will suck this year..... 2010 14 Metallic Red .......... gets me thru the day sometmies, then I think I have a mid 10 sec 1986 FJ1200 setting in shop is a sea of old Honda S-90 my right arm won't let me ride any of them......

Damn Dogo that is a beautiful zx9r . I wish i never sold my 03, even tho imo didn't have the character the earlier models have '' They were one of the best bikes i have owned. I hope you plan to post pictures of your project . I for one would love to see that 9 restored/modded.......

Thanks Bill...
Not doing too much to it. Most of what I did to the bike when I owned it previously is still there... and only a few small repairs, clean up, and paint are needed. I ordered up most the parts I should need over the weekend. MAN, it's hard to find parts for! Still lookin' for used set of FCR's for it. The motor has a 950 BB kit and some head work and those things REALLY woke it up.
I'll start a post in the "Bike Chat" section when stuff starts to arrive.

it would be difficult for me to part with my zzr 11 that i have had since 1990, over the years spent what would have bought two new 14s , ended up with 190 hp rear wheel and weight down to 390 lbs dry , and will still leave any std 14 for dead
