zzr1400 racing car

hi guys could any one tell me if i have to use a air filter box of some sort or can i use air filter socks or extensions as ive put a zzr1400 engine in my racing car and im stuck for space and will it loose horse power this way any info will help thanks kev

A filter box of similar capacity to std will keep the current tuneup working correctly, socks will get you flat spots that will need tuning out

Kevin, I have put about 3 ZX14 engines in race cars, the latest one is supercharged running about 300HP.

Keep the stock velocity stacks or go for longer ones for more torque. You won't need an airbox but if you do use one make sure it is plenty big enough otherwise it will rob power!

Most motorcycle engined cars use one filter over the 4 velocity stacks.

thanks for yr replies do you have any recommendation on the best filters to use im also using a power commander and having a exhaust system made and i need to find out what the gear ratios are for the 2007 model if you know where i could find them tahnks kev
