Looking for new tires for new setup.

So I've almost bought everything to repair my 14 after my crash, I've also bought everything to lower and stretch my bike from roaring toys (bolt on extensions).
I'm kinda scared of these new pilot pures, and was wondering about a more appropriate set of tires for my bike now that's it's gonna be a long and low bike. Is there a better tire choice for this type of set up?? Or should I just buck up and roll with my new pilot pures?

Shinko. Ultra soft or if you're gonna get down on it alot the hook up. You won't get much mileage out of them but it'll hook.

the michelins have a better profile for cornering, and the shinko is a wide flat tire for drag racing... stretched or not....choose your poison... tire choice will be even more critical with a long swingarm to get traction for the intended riding type.

oh and i ran my rear 5-8psi lower on the back with a 5 inch arm to maintain street traction in straight line, or leaned over...street pavent sucks, and with an arm the back end will become even more loose.

Thanks, I'll look around for a good deal on a different rear tire then.

Time to make a choice, I will no longer be flying through the corners like I used to, Ive become more interested in cruising at the back of the pack in the twisties, and waiting for the straight's to make my move, or when the weather is good a ride to the 1/4 mile drag strip for a few runs a few times a year.
Im leaning towards the U-soft, but have read its a heavy tire, is it so heavy that it slows you down compaired to the lighter tires such as the pures I have now from a roll on?
Im going to be doing lots of sport touring with some drag racing when presented with the opportunity.

If you've already got a power pure, just use that. As long as you're not over 6 inches extended, i bet it will hook decently. For cruising, it will be a great tire. Try it out. If you're still skittish from your wreck, you should be starting slow anyway.

peg it in 4th, and work your way into the lower gears. I bet it will hook in 2nd gear as long as you're going straight. I wouldn't go longer than 6" over for the street anyway.

Thanks gilberjj, But I broke down and bought a usoft this morning. I found a friend who wants my pilot pure, so it works out good for everyone since I have a tire changer and all..
From what ive gathered the u-soft will hook very well. Ill take all the traction I can get up here in the cold far NW on this island with my extended 14.

Now if I can just make up my mind on an exhaust system! Brocks, Muzzy, Akrapovic, Short, long, SS or Ti carbon fiber.. Its enough to drive you nutz.
