3 mil 1K spits shim on dyno on spray.
The 1K spit a shim on the exhaust valve on the dyno. It almost dropped a valve. One of the keepers was almost out. It ruined the retainer and the valve shim. Problem was it kept spinning the tire on the Dyno. A HUGE backfire caused it. Rev limit set at 14.5K. I would have hated to see the Carpenter head and the new CP piston get ruined. 197.3 on motor, 1K's don't make a lot of torque so I really didn't look at that on the display. I had made a tool to compress the spring without removing the head so after I came home I put a new retainer, keepers and shim in it. Not sure why it backfired. could be cam timing or because it was spininng on the drum. Carpenter told me to set them at 110/112. I will say this that dude will rev quick. He still was not finished with the Turbo Busa. Hope to be able to bring it home Tuesday and drop the 1K off again. I was really lucky.

You might check with him about what happened, normally should be 105/105 unless their is another reason.

not 105 with his head and cam pkg, lower you rev limit too, thats way to high, make it like 300 rpm above your max redline which is what 13,500?

Back in action now. Lowered the rev limit a little. Window switch for dry kit not hooked up. that's what did it. Should be able to get it out this weekend and make a good pass. We will see.
