We are planning to be there to rep the 14 in TG class if we can keep our,,,,,,,,ole hot shoe, flaming foot, burning boot, pilot healthy. LOL That kid has got to learn to keep his foot out from in front of the exhaust!

Boy, after all the money spent on the racers bike and wear while racing, many places don't give out much in cash prizes.

believe it or not in the last couple years this race is actually 1 of the better entry to payouts i've seen .. i've seen some of them with 100.00 entry and 500.00 payouts .. screw that not worth going and thats even if you win .. just to go to 1 these local friday night shoot-outs is getting tough 100.00 diesel 40.00 enter 1 class buyback maybe drinks food .. so it nothing for me to piss off 300.00 at a chance to win 300.00 bike class.. or 600.00 in a car class .. I 'M glad i like racing

Damn, what in the hell is going on with all of these events? 10 prostreet bikes, 7 realstreet bikes and even streetfighter had only a few entrees. Bike count is way down and it just seems to be getting worse. Money is getting tight out there!

Money is a factor. I think format is the big problem. Most know they have no chance of win before they leave home. Also spliting up the bikes ,that do come, into so many classes makes the turn out look worse then it is.
This is the format for a race i am putting together:
Bike Must have: (dot approved tires, head and tail lights, and street exhaust. No multi or sliders)
Max Wheel Base to rider wieght:
250+lbs 72"
249-201lbs 68"
200-150lbs64"
150-0lbs 60"
any power adder ok.
Plus run what you brung grudge racing between rounds.

Blk ice, I think you are right as far as real street, pro street, etc classes go.
As far as street fighter having only a entries, that's all economy. 9.5 class is Anyone's race. Street et being low counts here is economy.
As far as your class your trying to set up, all you got to have is one real street bike show up and all of you are done.
That's why index classes have the bigger turnout. Anyone can win.

+1 index racing sounds dumb and what not, but it will always have bigger turn outs what a open run what ya brung class. that is why we do ALOT of index racing here and if we want to gamble with someone we just ask to line em up and see who has the quicker bike

Thanks for the feed back.
All the Real Street Bikes that I can think of have sidewinders. Hence, bike most have "Street Pipe". I am banking on the fact that an owner of a real street bike will not change his set-up to run a local event at 1/8 track.
I am trying to start a monthly event at our local track just to put a little fun back into racing. TNT gets old and grudge racers, for the most part, just stand around waiting for someone to do a DUMB race with them. The guys who want to race a fair race get no action.
Do you think the wheel base to weight requirements seems fair to everyone?
I am post this in the Thread ( Race Format Advice Wanted ) as to not jack this Thread.

We had a great time this past weekend even though we didn't win any of the races. At the end of the weekend we had made 20 passes and one failed attempt. That was the first time that we had ever pulled to the line and not been able to fire. In the end it was a simple fix and thanks to the rain delay we didn't miss a pass. As always, it's a work in progress and we'll continue to try and improve as the kid gets more seat time and I get more experience workin on the bike. Needless to say we have a lot of work to do between now and Indy!

thanks man . good to meet you folks also .. i found 16 run tickets for myself ..may lost a few. i didn't win nothing either but didn't break nothing either... but i'll be back at it friday nite at SAR .. last i seen of the kid in staging i was congrats him on his perfect pass.. i saw 2 perfect passes in that round of top gas ..
All i've got to say about that complex is WOW !!!!! .. NEVER SEEN ANYTHING AS FANCY . makes these NHRA tracks in Texas look small and dated

best i found of BBQ was a Ruby Tuesday rib rack .. sure ain't Texas over there.. but i never broke a sweat all weekend racing .. i like that air ..

Just curious how your times were at Bristol compared to your home track?
The track elevation is around 1,600' and I was wondering if your times were slower.

i ran over there what i run around texas.. 60fts where down .. but ET'S and MPH was about the same .. don't deep stage at bristol .. i redlite everytime i tried and 1 time all i did was move in enough to turn the bulb off..

We run some of the Thursday night Street Fights there, it is a nice facility for sure.
We all usually run a tenth or so slower than other tracks so I was wondering how you faired.

yeah ..i heard several people say they was slower than normal .. i just wasn't 1 of them .. but everybody's 60ft's was off.. as in slower .. i think their beams where spread farther apart than most tracks ..
