Any stock ZX-14 can run 200 mph at maxton
well maybe not 200, but Ali went 199 and change on a stock motored zx-14.
Rich went 197.8 mph , but it was only his second time out to the track. I guess it will take some seat time to get the speeds that the great riders like Ali , Sal , and Shane have.

I gotta get me some of them skills (and maybe a bottle). After only getting 4 passes in April and 3 of those were for licenses, it was cool to get 14 on saturday and 10 on sunday, plus Ali took a pass on my bike sunday. It was definitely a good weekend for getting seat time. My last 3 today were in 43 minutes, plus Ali took a pass just before my last on of the day. Saturday, my last 4 passes were in the last hour.
Thanks to Roy and Ali for all the help. Pretty cool to get to work with these 2 guys all weekend, even if I didn't go as fast as I wanted to. Would have been cool to see a few other 14s there...........

That' some great speed right there. Only a handful of stock-motored 14's have been over 195 at Maxton, and mine was not one of them, unfortunately. My best ever passes were 193's in June heat. It sounds like those big TB's and E85 are doing the trick!!
Scott Guthrie posted that the conditions were great on Saturday with a 5-10 mph good wind. How was Sunday?
Congrats, Rich! 24 passes in one weekend is awesome...as are those speeds on a stock-motored bike! I wish we could have made it!

Thanks Shane. It would have been cool to see you there on one of the bikes. I was glad to keep making passes on the bike, and the bike seemed to like it too. The wind was a tail wind some of the time, but I was getting to lean to the left pretty good towards the end on a lot of my runs. Tail wind, side wind, either is better than rain. I dig the TBs and E85. I did leave my air filter in and had 10-40 oil in the bike. I gotta ride it to work tomorrow morning at 0330.

Yeah, it's hard to get the stars to align like they did for us all at Loring in 2009. Sometimes a quartering tailwind can even slow you down...I think you have a great chance to hit 200 on it. Did you go with the 40T rear sprocket? I think every stock motor bike to break 200 had to have one...even though the theoretical gearing says it should do it on stock gearing.
Also, how much do you weigh? I think that the only other stock motor 14 to break 200 might have been Chad Millholland on Brock's. Chad is jockey-sized. That bike didn't have the big TB's, but was running on straight MR9 fuel, and no filter, I am pretty sure. That bike was run in the June heat as well, if I recall.

I ran a 40T on the back. Ali ran the 199 between my 195 and 196 at the end of the day Sunday.

Ali, at around 125 lbs...(and I think Maybe 5' 4" or something?), has a speed advantage over most...even if they were his equal in skill. You don't weigh too much more than him, so with some practice you can likely run close to the same numbers.

Haha Damned if I did, damned if I didn't. Roy told me the bike has a soft limiter and may not get to 200 on the gearing we were running.
Then I jumped on it to see what it would do....having run Roy's bike all weekend Rich's bike was easier to get on and go (less torque and wheelspin).
I was sitting at 11,000 rpms for a little before I trapped. 199.3.....
If I did go 200 Rich would have been pissed, if I didn't everyone busted my balls for not doing it, lol. Either way, good times fellas, hope to see you guys back out there in June....if I'm done with spray runs I'll pour in some MR12 if I have time and see if I can get my 12 to go near 200 "on motah"
