Re-Map for Slip-on?

Hey everyone,

I'm pretty much set on buying the Vance & Hines CS-One Black Ceramic coated dual slip-on's for my 14 in the next couple weeks.
They look amazing, and the note out of them isent bad either

I wanted to know if I'll be needing to re-map on the 14 for these slip-ons.
I'm still pretty new to the 14's tech, and was wondering if these slip-ons will make it run lean enough to cause trouble in the long run.

Any info appreciated fellas.

Thanks in advance.

i wouldn't worry about remapping for slip-ons or even a full exhaust if i wasn't chasing HP (peak performance)

but if it were me, I wouldn't buy slip ons anyway. A waste of $. You can get a used full exhaust for close to the same price.

Thanks for the input fellas.
I was pretty sure that a re-map wasn't necessary, but like always, had to make sure.

I also thought long and hard about getting a full system, but I'm getting these slip-ons at a steal.
A local riding bud of mine recently laid down his 14 on a SMR, and has a few parts he is letting go for cheap, some that he never even had a chance to install.
Some brand new V&H pipes, some race stand spools/sliders, and a few other items that he's letting go since he's planing on going Honda after he receives his insurance settlement money.

And me, like a Vulture, lol, swooped right in time.

IMOHO, the 14 has huge amounts of power as it is, the pipes are just a good deal, they look great and sound pretty good too, I'm not really going after more HP, so I think this set-up ought to work out well for me.

Thanks again fellas.

-Jay

+3 it was only until I removed the flies on my 2007 model did a PC3 and a slip on map from Jamie at Fuel Moto and Muzzy oval slip on's really help (smoother) and I noticed a Big Difference in low RPM (under 4K) with these changes over pure stock. My friend ran a full 4/2/1 on a stock map as his PC3 quit working and he had to remove it to send it in for free replacement. The 2006 14 was smooth and only a few bikes slower doing roll on's with no PC3..... Changing my rear sprocket from 41 to 43 made a bigger jump on roll on's then a header did. Now go do all of them like the rest of us :-) Sold the slipon's..... Used Brocks/ Muzzy M14, Yosh, etc.... 4/2/1 complete exhaust ..., PC3.2006/07 remove flies and 43 rear .......much faster and quicker ZX-14..good deals on used parts. I got my exhaust here. Thanks Shane :-)

I got my Brock's for weight reduction and HP (appearance and sound helped too), but noticed the handling benefits from losing the huge cans. Not sure how much the V&H weigh, but the difference in the handling was enough for me by itself.

Lol, I'm workin on it, my son decided that my Canon Power Shot was a good bath-time toy (he's 1 and 1/2) so I'm lookin to buy a new Camera too. lolz

At $300 bucks, the slip-ons are a sweeeeeeeet deal, so you bet I'll slap some pics up as soon as I mount up the exhaust.
I've seen one other ZX14 with the CS One cans in person(In stainless, not black ceramic) and they look sick.

I heard them in a fly by, and the note is pretty nice too.

Thanks for all the info guys, much appreciated!

I just got my Ninja out for the first ride of the year.I had to report this.I love this Brocks Alienh ead.Put the best of Brocks 5 maps I got.Since I had the flies out used that one with a leaner top end.I don't about the topend cause in second gear the revs came uo so fast I just shifted.I know one thing it came reving alot faster then my 2-Bros slipons.People here were right about the pipe.Best $650 I spent and it was like new.
