How to Tune with the Wego III
Can someone give me a rundown of how to tune with a Wego III what I am curious is there an easy way to know what values to put in the Power commander chart to get the desired AF result
Also what AF ratio do I need to set the bike at 12:8/1?? And should I keep that AF fixed across all RPM and Gears and throttle positions?

... I tune the lower 3rd in the 13.5 zone middle 3rd 13.1 zone , top 3rd 12.9 zone .. as far as putting numbers in the power commander , lets say your wego tells you 13.7 WOT at 10.000 RPMs you would add 3 numbers and retest . Now it reads 13.4. Add a few more numbers till you see the A/F drop to 12.9 or what ever number you pick for your target A/F .. There is not a qiuck and easy way to do this , it takes time to build a good map ... Here is the good part , by the time you build a good map you will be a pro at tunning and mostlikey know more than you wanted to know ..

Lee, do you tune that way to trim the power down to fight wheelies? If so that is not my goal bike is long enough and I weigh enough not to have to worry about that or do you tune that way for another reason? Please explain?

it is more technically complicated setting up an accout and posting on this forum than tuning with a wego III
you want it richer at higher loads to keep parts from melting, and it makes more power. keeps everything cool. at lower throttle positions, there is little load, therefore little heat generated, so you can favor efficiency. i tune about the same as smokin. 13.5-13.7 around town crusing, 13.4-13.6 freeway cruising, and 12.8 at full power. then just blend the afr's in between. the wego will generate tables for you showing what you afrs are for a given rpm and throttle position, as well as suggested trim values. i'd recommend telling it the afr you want for a given tps colum, modifying your map, and then moving on to the next column. otherwise you can get mixed up and get the wrong afr in the wrong spot.

It has nothing to do with wheelys ... I keep it a bit leaner in the lower RPMs for better throttle response ( better 60 and 330 times ) Trust me 13.5 is not lean .. 14.1 is lean .. .. I make it richer at high RPMs for the ram air ..
