zx 14 crank difference

i got a crank off of ebay can someone tell me how to figure out if its an 06-07, or an 08 and up crank

If you can't get an accurate tooth count on the primary drive gear, then look at the wear marks on the face on the teeth of the same gear, The 06-07 has a clutch gear that is split sort of and if you look close you can see that the wear almost looks like one thin gear and one thicker ( two ) separate gears from clutch are driven from the gear on the crank.
I m guessing you can't find any markings to tell you or you wouldn't be asking ?
The 08- up has a diff, ring gear (one piece ) on clutch basket. I know this is a little vague but it should help ....................

the 07 has 61 teeth compared to 54 on the 08?

Yes the 08-09 has 54 teeth and the 06-07 has 61 teeth. The other gear is the same.
