Need some help...


Can anyone tell me the torque specs for the clutch cover & clutch spring bolts on the 14 ???

9.8nm, 87in. lbs., 7.2 ft lbs. for the cover. Spring bolts are 8.8 nm, 78 in lbs., 6.5 ft. lbs...... In other words a good hand tightening will work great.

9ft lbs i dont hand tighten nothin ,esp nothin thats important.

and a little oil on those spring bolt threads before install is a good idea too.

u got it rick, i will be there on the 09 streetbike, elvira is to long now to enter tsb . and yes 9ftlbs ,since 06 i have never pulled any threads out nor have i lost a bolt or had a leak,on the other hand i have seen a few that did by hand tighting and an uncalibrated torkwrench that was set at 6-7 ftlbs ,and it was ugly and costly for the owners. 9ibs and a little oil on them there threads and no worrys.

p.s. get yourself a afm rubber gasket from cometic ,it is reuseable manytimes over and is way cheaper than oem.

Thats the same spec as the 12, never had a problem with it on the 12 & never put oil on the threads...

Whats up with putting oil on the bolts for the 14?

Is that only for the heavy springs or using the brock shims?

a more accurate torque value,and saves the threads from premature wear.
