Arizona was so bad with their photo radar that it actually earned a travel advisory from AAA.
The folks here revolted and now they're all gone.
If it's photo radar and they mail you the ticket, you have not been properly served. Toss it.!
If someone knocks on your door, then you have to deal with it.
Attend your city or county board meetings and make your voice heard. It really works!!
Don't rant, yell or insult. Pick a specific point and stay the course.
It's time we the people take back our government.

It has been said that America undergoes a peaceful revolution every four years. 1/3 of the Senate and the entire House of Representatives is elected every two years, the President and the Governor are elected every four years. If you don't like what your leaders are doing, vote them out, work for a political party, start an Action Committee, or in some other way, use the system.
Our system may not be perfect, but it i certainly better than what they have, or even what they are getting.
Ozonkiller, what the folks there did was not a revolt, but the proper use of the democratic system. Getting involved works.
For people who think that their vote doesn't count, get involved. If you are one of 10,000 voters in a district, you have a small voice. If you stand up in a city council meeting, EVERYONE hears you.
Not too confident about tossing the ticket (I think I will pay the fine) but the rest of your post is perfect. You said it better than my ineloquent self.

We have PHOTO speed traps now, not just redlight photo in DAYTON, OH.
I'm with 1Badzx12r! I'm fucking sick of someone going a little over the limit (that a nerd decided) getting a ticket in a speed trap. There are better things to concentrate on. If they were recklessly driving then sure, ticket them, but fuck you for busting as many as you can barely going over or even causing trouble on the road.
Last I checked, my 3 year raise in insurance doesn't go to build roads. $100 ticket, fuck it, $600 extra a year for the next 3 years.................Yeah, fuck you lawmaking assholes! Government sissies piss me off so bad.

i really wish that was the truth . but when you go into your local property tax office and show them what you paid for something .. and they still value it 4 times the market value . communication ain't working ..
or when you vote down a school bond and they find ways to go around an 80% majority against vote to get what they want .. it ain't working ..
or like when they pass health care and 60% of the people say no .. it ain't working ..

I'm not talking about meeting face to face with some clerk who works 9 to 5. Rally the troops and pack a city council meeting and trust me, you will get results, one small community at a time. My wife's been involved in some pretty testy stuff and has pulled off some amazing feats. Of course if you've met Karen you'd know what I mean.

Ryno, It was approaching a revolt. Folks were vandalizing the equipment, flying past these thing in monkey costumes and unfortunately some lunitic screwball shot into a photo radar vehicle and murdered some poor guy just doing his job. That was sad.
Even DPS was calling for their removal as all of the hostility that these things generated was being directed at them.
By the way, this was all a brainiac idea thought up by Homeland Security director Janet Napolean Napolitano when she was governor here.

I have never gotten a ticket that I was going less than 7 mile over the limit. I have never seen anyone produce a ticket for less than 5mph over the limit. I am sure it happens, but I am convinced it is very rare. You always hear people talk about 1mph over tickets, but that is just the ones who make the most noise, OR they are exaggerating the speed they were actually going. I DO ride a lot. I DONT race a lot. I get tickets when I let stupid drivers get the best of me.
As far as Texas, I have lived in New York, Arizona, Florida, Illinois and out here in "Northern Mexico" (we dont claim El Paso as part of Texas. and the best place IMO (and that IS just an opinion) is Texas. I especially love it down in the Hill Country near Austin. Not really the best of anything here, but the best combination of everything.

151,000 miles 49 states, 7 provinces since 2002. I'd say that qualifies as a street rider.
One ticket for 60 in a 50 (I was actually doing 72) in 2005
Since I took it to the track back in September 1980 there's been one other speed and one "California stop".
No one to blame but myself in each case
