baffle removal on smeg Hey guys, so i got my brocks exhaust installed on my bike.. All i can say is WOW i love itt... sounds amazing and the gains are incredible from stock.. I just cannot figure out how to get this dam baffle out of it.. i took off the screw, but i just dont know what to do to remove it, it doesn't budge. Im nervous to use vice grips or something cuz it may damage it.. How do u guys do it??

hit it with a something long from the other end on the lip of the baffle.. It will come right out... I mean take that pipe off and go in through the other end, with a long screw driver or something of that nature.. Then it will sound bad ass...Pro stock dragster...lol

i use to use a pair of channel locks with the rubber covers over the teeth to protect the baffle from being marked up.

Dude that is hilarious! I did that very thing a long time ago on my first bike - but I was haulin down a backroad on a KZ550 when my Kerker blew its endcap - sounded like the exhaust snapped off at the downtubes! Went from "mmmmmm" to "BAAAAHH!!" in an instant.

Haha that would be funny.. Buttt finally i got it out... This thing sounds like a drag bike, personally i love it.... I was thinking would cops be pulling us over for noise violations? I mean the Harley guys are so much louder then us and i see nobody bothering them..

Noise laws are getting worst especially here in CA. On bikes made in 2013 or after we in cali can no longer have an exhaust that doesn't have an EPA noise emissions stamp on it . We can even get ticketed for an aftermarket exhaust violation while the bike is parked anywhere, even in our driveway!

i blew the right side out of the stock exh on my kz650 back in hs. started it up, revved it a few times and it fired out a few feet behind me. screw was nowhere to be found

I always thought a little baffle back pressure was needed for street riding you may want to leave it in for a smooth powerband

It does sound bad ass, I used to have a smeg. However it doesn't increase your power over having the baffle in and you loose some top end(probably not needed on the street anyway). It is pretty loud with the baffle in, been pulled over a couple times, I guess I shouldn't have been doing 90 in second gear. You will be putting it back in after a while...unless you don't live in California and you are still young!

Haha that was a great episode.. i laughed my ass off... But yea i put the baffle back on, that thing was just way to loud.. i felt like every cop was gonna pull me over..

Remove the baffle, take the set screw out of the big side, then use a big socket with a extension put it in the small side against the edge of the baffle and knock it out. But you'll be sorry you took it out it makes a lot of noise and does not help horsepower. But you can have fun drowning out the Harley guys.

haha yea thats true... I figured it out.. i put it back on already, way to loud.. I felt a difference in performance as well, like it didn't run as good with it off.. much more smoother with the baffle.. i cant wait to get my bazzaz and tune it!
