Most HP Exhaust by SSB!!

I am not sure if this has been posted on here. SSB tested over 18 exhaust systems both slip ons and full systems and came up with interesting numbers so what are your thoughts on this.

Just goes to show most of the gain comes before you even get to the cans. Interesting read. thanks.

Yes indeed and unlike other articles and such I don't think this was driven off of who or which vendor threw the most money at the editor. Muzzys made more power than the rest and we all know that Muzzy would not throw money at the magazine. Its amazing that almost all the pipes are so close in power which is what I would suspect anyways. Good find

Thanks but the one thing that I find most interesting is the weight factor and with that said would you take the exhaust that is down 2-3 hp but lighter, over a slightly heavier more HP exhaust? This may be a dumb question but you can lose weight every where on a bike to make up for the exhaust wt? On a side note you would think that Muzzy would have this down to a science since they were the first to have the ZX-14 before anyone else and could test their products to fix any flat spots.

You answered your own question. You can always lose weight but you can't always gain hp.

Nice article, but no surpise. Having owned the CT, Shortmeg, and M14, I knew they would be close on power. The CT is probably the most gorgeous pipe you can buy, and the Muzzy is probably the best performance value.

Racheal's bike has a CT for now, but I wouldn't hesitate to run an M14. I was able to get the CT at a good discount, which made it a little easier to justify.

After hearing what everyone is saying about Muzzy's customer service I guess that is why majority is going with the Brock's exhaust or am I wrong.

Customer service is a big part of it, I'm sure. At the same time you can get a Muzzy M14 for about $700 shipped and it has an 02 bung welded in it already.

There is no comparison between Muzzy and Brock's customer service. Brock's is much, much better. Plus you get some fantastic base maps with a Brock's system. So, you have to weigh what is most important to you.

Nice find. I suspected this..... The m14 is a nice pipe. I'd be interested to see how akro, ti-force, and sato compare....

+1

Those 3 pipes would HAVE to be included in a shootout like this..........

It's all just academic really. Find a pipe that sounds good, looks good, and doesn't break the bank. For most of us, it won't really matter. This test proves it!

Old thread, but It would be nice if the Brock's CT Dual was available in stainless to bring the price into a bit more reasonable price range. I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Little more? That's a reach. Long reach, riding economy class until January----then its ON. There is no doubt that it's a sweet exhaust and makes plenty of power---and it's Brock. Sadly, it's not about power for me at this time. I wanted to 200hp bike...don't need it, want it....Just wish it was available in stainless. I guess its more bad timing on my end.

The really sweet thing about the 14 is all the attention it is getting. Once the aftermarket catches up, there will be even more options. I don't think we will ever get the aftermarket attention that the busa gets, but then again, who needs all that extra chrome and fat tire kits. lol
