Fuel lines leaking
So, I'm just wondering how robust the stock fuel line is. I've only had it off once, I hooked it back up to the tank to drain the tank once and now today I just hooked it back up while putting things back together. I primed the pump and noticed the throttle body end leaking -it looks like from the hose side of the fitting. When I pull on it it doesn't move on the T B fitting so I think it's connected correctly. I'm gonna have to take the T B back out to disconnect the line since I can't get my hands in there to release the clip so I figured I'd ask to see if anyone has some good suggestions on how to fix this or if the fuel line is prolly broke and I should just save the time and order a new one now. The thing is like new, I have a hard time believing it's broke for pete's sake, but then that's been a reoccurring theme with this bike, lol

Haven't had an issue with the fuel line on the 14 or even heard of one.
I think the TB end shouldn't have leaked unless it was removed and not reinstalled properly.
But it is possible that the oring in the fitting twisted or failed somehow when it was moved?
Did you remove the entire fuel line from the bike?
I would remove the TB end and inspect the interior of the fitting and the out side area of it too.
If no damage is seen then reconnect the fitting and see if maybe by reconnecting it that it reseats it.
If not then you're sol and need a new line.

Could the reoccurring theme be the operator? You have broke stuff on that bike I've never heard of people breaking.
I drain my fuel tank before going to the track, and after everytime. We usually go at least every other weekend, and I've never had a problem.

It's probably half on. I don't know how many times I've swapped and wrinkled it back in, where I loaded the hose quite a number of times; not snaking back it to the tank.
I think the hose is robust, not one bust and there you go. Unless you have a hard time with things mechanical in your hands like a pants zipper... How many of those you broken?
Did she ever ask you if it was all in? I don't have those kinds of problems, fella. Recheck your work, guy!

lol could be me guys.
I think maybe the problem was I didn't push the line on straight and maybe screwed up the o-ring. I'm finally heading out to check.

Nope, wasn't me. The black plastic line directly behind the quick-connector has cracked wide open.
All I've done with it is disassemble once, and carefully. So I wonder if this will fall in my warranty? Doubt it.

It's a $5-8 hose: why would you waste your time in trying to claim something so cheap on your warranty?

I've broken a fairing piece and a plastic fuel line. What an incredibly long string of broken parts! Thanks for the positive input.

Say what?! You are one seriously cool dude, Rick. Thanks.
After looking at mine though, I wonder how hard it'd be to warm up the tubing and shove the barb of the coupler in. I thought they were a special sealed line but just looks like a tight fit.
As far as the warranty, screw 'em, until it's out of warranty I'll bother them for every stupid thing that breaks prematurely. They probably won't do anything but they should know it broke for no good reason.

Other people agreed with me. You dont have to buy the line at a kawi dealer, you can put a wtb in the classifieds.
This guy is putting quite a few people on his ignore list, wouldn't bother me if I was there too with the dumb shit he ask.

now why is that so hard for everyone else to say with out insulting me, thanks. I got a new bike, this shit shouldn't be breaking with normal use and I shouldn't have to replace it when I've paid for a warranty. I've had many bikes but never a Kawasaki so I'm just wondering if this is a trait among this maker. Everyone acts like I don't know what I'm doing which couldn't be further from the truth, I just don't understand why after having taken dozens of bikes apart and back together this bike seems to want to crumble every time I touch it when everything on it is new. The stinkin fuel line hasn't even had a chance to get dirty. Now if it's just a matter of picking up some high pressure line a fuel injection clamps to fix it in the end I'm fine with that. God knows my last bike didn't have an unmodified part on it cause things wear out eventually. I'm just a little bummed I can't keep my new bike in one piece for at least one season because I've been waiting a long time to be able to buy a new bike. But trust me, if there's one thing I do know how to do is keep a bike rolling and that is exactly what I'm gonna do with this bike whether it cooperates or not and whether I find helpful people here or not.

One thing that should be overbuilt for reliability is a fuel line. I bet you are just having some bad luck there Crush. The important thing is that you discovered it before things got hot.

Yeah I bet it was just a weak spot from the heat set when they made the line. It was RIGHT at the end of the barb which makes me think it was kinked or something prior to being installed originally and then sat and vibrated till it was weak enough to come apart from the action of disassembly. Freak occurrence, glad it leaked now rather than after everything was together and running down the highway. Great balls of Fire!
