zx 10 2011 vs bmw 1000r stock
Well we finally got to do our own road test yesterday morning with the new zx 10 & bmw,both guys weigh approx the same,both good riders .The bikes both had akropovic slip ons no filters or power comanders, the zx 10 had 150 km on the clock & the bm has 5000km.They did roll ons from 2 nd gear onwards , the bikes were dead even until end of 3rd gear then the zx just starts pulling away from the bm,trust me I was riding behind them and saw all the races,the new zx is very very fast ,prior to this race the guy on the bm has not lost to any stock 1000 so far.The bm rider just shook his head and said unbelievable,well I really enjoyed the road test under normal road riders conditions,Kawi rules

Gee did Kawi fix all of the ZX10'RS and are selling them again?

Steve I dont know what you mean by that statement, but the road racing tests we did yesterday the zx was the fastest up to 300km/h (limiter),and yes here in South Africa all the zx 10's were sorted(valve Springs) at the Kawi HQ before being released to dealers,the bikes SA got is all unrestricted models

so are the South Africa ZX10 unrestricted as in not like the US bikes?

I have read that the US models have a restriction of 20hp,don't know how true it is ,that's what I meant by saying SA models is unrestricted

I don't know what to believe now. I just read the performance test published in the UK's Motorcycle News this week. They have the BMW at 188.79bhp beating the 2011 Kawasaki's 175.11bhp.
The Beemer was also ahead on torque, top speed and acceleration. Just like last year they had the S1000RR as the top 1000cc sports bike and the Honda CBR1000RR was second. Maybe the ZX-10R they got was a restricted one - by mistake

Well it makes you wonder who is paying for the test? It wouldn't be the first time that a magazine stack the odds in the order of the Benjamin's. We probably won't know until the bikes starts showing up at the track. But I know this that Dyno numbers will not give you real-world horsepower with ram air. If you asked the busa guys they will tell you that the Busa makes more power than the 14, but at the track they can't seem to make it happen not here and not in AMA last year. I don't think this test was fair because the ZX10 only had about 130 miles on it and the BMW had 4000. the BMW was well broke in! I guess we'll just have to wait to see what little brother has to offer.

Ken i'm with you , when i see JT on a zx10 set up like Brocks 1000rr and beats it i'll believe it .. Untill we see what it runs at the drag strip with some pros riding it , it's all just lip service..

I REMEMBER when the 04 zx10 came out and was dyno HP way above the rest .. but on a road course and dragstrip the olde gixxers still beat it ..

If you go to MCN you guys will see that the comments the test rider got from the public was not good,the test rider races for BMW in Brit Superbikes,his company bike is a BM 1000 very biased,come on the Fireblade cant be better than the new 10.MCN never gives a Kawi good reviews, they had the Busa much better than the 14 aswell,theres no way a busa is better than my 14.

you probably won't be seeing that from Brocks! He is selling BMWs right now and I respect him for doing that.
So if we want to see a really good race, and Kawi is trying to get their point across, then they should give Adams a new ZX10 and a few dollars to play with and then you would see the fur fly LOL.

That'll do it. I remember when the GPz900R was launched it just took Jay (Pee Wee) Gleason to post a 10.55 and Geoff Johnson to win a TT race and the bike's reputation was assured. I bought one
