Help with wiring MPS kill box

I followed mps directions to a T and it will not kill the bike. Here is a sketch to explain exactly how I wired it. I start bike, flip switch one way and horn works, I flip switch the other way (to arm kill) and nothing. However when I flip the switch back the bike will kill, actually during the flip of the switch. Need some ideas here of what im doing wrong. Im using a double pull, double throw switch, 1 of the side legs of switch going to blue activation wire for kill, center leg of switch going to one of the wires I cut coming off horn button, othe side leg of switch going to the other portion of wire I cut coming off horn button. Any questions feel free to ask because im totally confused!!!! HELPPPP!!! Thanks.

The wire from the horn button needs to go to the center pole of the switch. leave the blue wire at the switch pole it is at now. run the remaining switch pole to the horn.

Sorry, sketch is incorrect. The wire from the horn button is going to the center pole. Actually I tried them both ways and this is were im at now with this situation. It is wierd because it will kill the bike when I switch the double pole double throw switch but not when I hit the horn button. also it is killing power to the dash lights and headlights when I switch the switch. I followed the schematic it looks to be just as MPS has it setup.
TOTALLY CONFUSED...

I dont need the horn really either, didnt really think about taking the horn out all together. This is a drag bike, no street for it. So if I go this route am I going to just hook the blue wire off the kill box up to the black / yellow off the horn button?

So blue wire will go to the non power (negative) from horn button and the power wire will just be cut and taped off? I have a ignition switched power hooked up to it now. Is this correct?

from your diagram above you should only have to swap the horn wires on the toggle switch. Put the wire going to the horn button in the middle and the wire going to the chassis on the end. With the blue wire being on the end the toggle flipped one way should utilize the horn button as the shift button. If you flip the toggle the other way you will have the horn operation as normal.

There is another diagram that shows how to wire everything with a toggle switch.

Last night I took out my multimeter and tested these wires. I disconnected the wires from the switch and the blue wire from the kill box was reading 9.5 volts all the time, the negative from the horn button switch reads 11.6 volts only when horn button was pressed, 0 when not pressed. Is this supposed to be correct? Hooked negative wire (from horn button) to center leg of switch, blue to outer leg of switch, and other negative going to horn to opposite leg of switch. Same results. Im wondering if there is something tied into these wires that could be messing it up. I may try to take the wires off the horn directly and connect them up and see. I noticed in the manual, and visual that the wires off the horn are different colors than what is coming off the horn button... Could this be where my problem is???

I hooked mine up last night and at first i had the same issue. I tapped into the horn wire (black wire) up by the right ram air tube. The two wires i had were light brown and black with rings. the black wire is the one you want to use.
After i tested the all the wires i initially had them hooked up backwards. Try swapping the wires around and see what happens. Also the ground signal will only last on the kill box for the determined set time. The ground signal will last for the duration of the button depression on the air switching solinoid if you have one tied into your setup.

when i tested both wires coming off of the horn both of them had power. The black wire was the only one that would flip to ground when i pressed the horn button.

I looked at that also and noticed it had power on both wires, that's why I didn't try that. Now I will do that. did you cut the black wire and put the wire of the horn button to the middle leg of the switch , then take the other side of the black wire and connect to 1 of the outside legs of the switch, or are you not using a switch and connecting the blue wire to the black horn wire ? Thanks a lot for this information ahead of time !

i am using an mps switch swapper for my setup. Mainly because i am running a compressor and the shifter solinoid. The swapper i am using is the nos/shifter - starter/horn swapper.

I just sent you a PM

TH1RT3EN, a big THANK YOU for making the headaches stop. I tried out the black wire by the right air ram tube that you talked about and it worked! Im assuming that I might have been tied into the wire before the relay... Not sure but the engine kills, so again thanks alot TH1RT3EN!!! If I ever meet up with you (I see your from Indiana, me too) I owe you beers!!!
