- Goals: What Made You Happy? -

We all set our own personal goals. Some harder to achieve than others...

What goals did you achieve that you strived for??

Mine:

5 second 1/8th mile, 5.77 best on stock motor
8 second 1/4 mile: 8.93 best on stock motor
200+ mph: 211.97 mph on stock motor

Anyway, this is not to compare results. There are a lot better riders and faster bikes out there. Just wondering, what goals did you achieve...what made you happy?

It could be an ET, it could be a touring goal, or even MPG.

Shane

I'm slow and haven't got a lot of seat time this last year, my goal was a 5.anything I ran a 5.99 at Barona in some terrible air so I was pleased. And after I ran another 5.99 on the way to a 9.24 in the quarter at MIR after months of no racing.

So overall I was happy with this year, not satisfied though. This year I am a good bit lower, I have installed an air shifter, the bike is a little lighter, and I have a new stock clutch, so hopefully this year will be even better. My goals this year is 8's on pump gas, we will see how it goes. And I would like to change the setup a little and try to make it to some LSR events this year now that I am on the east coast.

Do you have your ported head yet? And are you going to post before and after dyno numbers? That and ported throttle bodies are on my list for next winter.

My previous goal was anything in the 9's in the 1/4 mile. I finally made it last year (with minimal seat time)

My new goal is 9.2 or better with a 60" of 1.5 or better.
Should be easy since i will be going with an air shifter soon.

1.3x sixty foots was a goal and I got there a couple times and havent returned yet but holding low 1.4's still.. 5.7x's and 9.0's was the next goal down and holding. 5.6x eighths and 8's in the 1/4 are around the corner...pretty hard getting to the corner.
My ultimate goal is to run the quickest et ever on a dot tire, 68in wb, untouched stock motor(no power adders), hand clutch(non engine driven clutch), pump gas, fully equipped street bike(mirrors and all) at 755lbs total weight. Me weighing 241lbs suited now, just getting an 8.99 will be a great personal feat.

Going to the track makes me happy. Anyways, I am very critical of my performance and take the sport almost too serious. My goal is to eventually have the quickest ET on a 14 period!!!!

My goal this past year was to run a 8 sec pass. Got it on quite a few days with 8.89 being the best and 5.68 1/8.
There's not any 200+ lb riders here running that fast on a stock motor.
I know there are a few guys on here, just not local

Last year I didn't have too many goals because I didn't know what to expect. I wanted to go faster then 9.5 (which I did). However, after accomplishing that, I became unsatisfied with my pr of 9.48, but I was unable to best it this year. I've gotten a better grip on my bike and what I can do now, and I'm making some serious goals for next year.

So,

In 2010, my pr was
9.48@142, best 60' of 1.46. Wb @ 64", and weighed 240-250 unsuited.

For 2011,
I want to race more
I want to win a Wally
I want to ride and own the quickest and fastest ninja in the northwest. That means going > 8.67@167
I also want to keep my bike in one piece....

Goals? I never had any but I somehow ended up doing way more than I ever thought I would. None of it on a track. There's my goal for 2011. We have a drag strip and a couple race tracks. I know one is noted for being one of the better tracks for hyperbikes. Have to check on some racing clubs.

No straightline goals for my bike as I don't dragrace.........but I'd like to get within 15 seconds of Pro laptimes at my local roadcourse -- just don't think it's possible without really tracking the bike out beyond streetability.........and that's something I won't do again.........unless I can pickup a cheap 1000 to build, which isn't financially possible now that my wife has a bike too.
So, I'd consider it more of a "dream" at this point in my life.........but dreams can become goals eventually right?
