Really cool setup you have. I don't know anything about turbo but I have an o2 sensor for my Autotune module...so take my comments FWIW.

o2 sensor too close to the engine, you mean?

That is a concern with a 4-2-1 becaus eif you go too close to the engine you will be sniffing only 2 pipes when there are 4 exhaust outlets. Have been told it really doesn't matter. Personally, I am glad I have my o2 sensor where all 4 pipes come together and I would prefer to have it positioned as far back as possible to ensure that a good sampling of exhaust mixtur from all cylinders is accessible. I don't think that is an issue with your set up but like a said----FWIW.

pipe too short?

Looks like you are getting some fairing meltage in pic #2. Already the fairing has been cut. I can see why you would not want to just cut that piece out. The lower might get floppy without the support of the whole piece.

At low rpm you will get a lot of reversion at the sensor, for sure.

This is mine on my ZRX, I had it plugged during this photo. I compared the a/f readings on my gauge to the sniffer on a DJ250 and the were comparable.

Mines worked fine for 5 years.

Like I said before, I don't think it's the fuel killing those sensors, I think it's the heat. When I got my aem Wideband, the instructions said to place the sensor 24-36 inches down from the turbo. That's simply not possible on your setup, but move it asfar downstream as possible. Pump shouldnt kill those sensors..... Race gas will though!
