hello new guy here.. quick question

Hey guys just wanna welcome myself to the forums, and say hello.. I'm probably going to be going with the brocks smeg exhaust, and a bazzaz.. My question to u guys is can i install the exhaust without tunning it right alway.. I'm gonna be ordering the exhaust first.. Just wanted to see if that would be ideal or wait to everything together.. I'm stock with a BMC air filter thats it.. I put down 176 to the wheel what kind of gains can be excepted with and without a tune with this setup.. I live in Tampa fl so im pretty much right at sea level as well..

No need to wait for the Bazzaz to install your exhaust. I ran mine for over a week before I got the map from Brock's. (not his fault, I didn't request it until I had already installed my alien head)
The advantage to waiting, is that you only have to remove the fairings once to install both the exhaust and the PCV.

As far as performance, SuperStreetbike magazine has an excellent writeup in the Jan issue comparing 18 exhausts including several from Brock's, although the smeg isnt one of them.

I ran my bike with a full exhaust for quite some time without any fuel management (bazzaz, power commander, juice box... etc) without any issues. In fact, all the maps I've ever seen PULL fuel at the high rpms. The largest benefit to getting a fuel management unit is the ability to tune the bike after pulling the flies. Brocks makes a great exhaust, good luck with your purchase.

No problamo. Welcome to the site. You should read the build thread by Shane.... although the pictures are down. Another valuable read for any zx14 owner are the Brocks zx14 diaries.

Welcome to the forum, congrats on the purchase, and you'll love Brocks exhaust - check his forum out and you'll see his systems put more consistent power than most others - may as well splurge and get the mapwork done too if i were you, why wait? Your bikes worth it!

My '08 dyno'd almost the same numbers dave........
192.53 hp @ 112.88 ftlb. after Brock mapped it for a PC and BMC along with the SMeg.
his in-house conditions were just over 92 deg F at just under 30 percent humidity when he tuned it.

Wow those numbers are very impressive u guys are putting out.. I'm definitely going to be going with there map as well.. Are u guys not to fond about the bazzaz or would a power commander be better.. I dont hear much about the bazzaz on hear.. Ive had a few people tell me tho that they are excellent for tunning.. Now i just have to find a place in my area.. There is nothing down here in Tampa..

More than likely, yours is around the same as most any bone stocker 14 -- typically put out in the 160-170hp range...........Brocks systems can add anywhere between 20-30hp gains depending on mapping - so yes, you'll be VERY happy

I have had all of my friends use one dyno.STEDMAN MOTORSPORTS IN MOULTON ALABABA.

My bike has been on the dyno several times with upgrades.....started at 162 now at 191hp

219 on the nos set-up they installed it is way cool the way they mounted the bottles and everything.
It is a duel bottle set-up.
