With a Leo Vince slip-on, PC, de-restriction, lowered, Marchesini's, lightened, running MR12 and geared 17/36 it had better be knocking on the door of 200mph for Kawasaki's sake, the S1000RR can do it.
Great for us, the customers, to see the power-wars back on. ____________

Those aren't many mods, really. And a slip-on exhaust....very impressive.
The BMW struggled to hit 200 at Maxton, and it had more mods...it would be great to see the two bikes run on the same day, equally set up.
It's fair to say that this 10R is a quantum leap beyond those that came before it.

No, not many mods Shane and I'm impressed enough to be considering a trade-in of my lovely 2010 HRC Fireblade for a ZX-10R. It's not just the engine power but the on-board electronics that has moved the goal-posts.
Our Performance Bikes magazine (UK) cracked 200 on the BMW quite easily, 197 at the first attempt. Just gearing and a bit of taping if my memory serves me. It will be Spring before we get the Kawsaki to test. Hopefully.

I don't really give magazine tests that much credence. Better to see the bikes run at the track, and on the street in private hands.
That's one the issues with the BMW...you just don't see them around here much. When Brock showed up to Maxton with 3 of them, those were the first three that I have seen at the track.
Now you have to be wondering...what is Suzuki working on??

It would've been nice to know what the density altitude was, but it looks like Florida so sea level was probably close I think Brock run 200 on a 14 in a 1 mile course with MR9 fuel. There is a difference between a one-mile fixed course and flat out no limit. But the bike is looking good I'm hoping that little brother makes a good showing. We probably won't know the full potential until somebody makes a full decent exhaust. But I think we'll get a preview at the Daytona 200 superbike race On March 12.

Yeah I had a couple problems hitting 200 on the BMW at Maxton but it was because we did not know how to get past the top speed limiter on the bike with traction control. I only made 2 passes on the BMW without traction control and hit 200 on the 2nd pass. We ran out of time and did not have time to regear the bike to make more passes. I would love to run the bike again with correct gearing and see how it does.
How far of a road did the guy in the video have to run 201 ? That makes a huge difference.
I am a die hard Kawi guy but you gotta admit the BMW & ZX10 are bad. I just glad to see BMW step up so we can see some further power wars.

Yes the competition is great. I'm sure Kawasaki is not happy about the whipping they took in superbike the last couple years. You can only kick sand in a guys face for so long until he does something about it. And when we get that type of competition! we win.

Not sure how far he ran, but the bike was not in 6th for an exceptional amount of time...and it hit the limiter in top gear...

It sounds like he was already in 2nd gear when the video starts. The video is only about 13 seconds so he was running for less than a mile when he comes by the camera.
He was in 6th gear for about 6 seconds, but it is hard to tell how much further he run it in 6th gear for.

Listen closely and you can hear it hit the limiter before he passes the camera (from both camera angles)...at any rate, I'd love to see you run one of these 10R's at Maxton.

I didn't notice that the first time I watched it. You are right Shane. You can clearly hear him hit the limiter in 6th.

Ok it went 201 on GPS with mods and i guess that is good .. How far did it take him to get to 201 ? Was this a 9/10s thing starting at 60 MPH or was it a dead stop and one mile run ? Or did he just pin it till he hit the limiter ? ..Too many questions and no answers .... I want to see what one does in the standing mile ( stock ) .. I want to see what one does in the 1/4 mile (stock) ...

Well, based on the 13 seconds mentioned, it was not even a full mile...although he could have rolled from 120 mph in 2nd for 3/4 of a mile. Nonetheless, the bike is definitely strong. It is probably no more a drag bike than a BMW....

201 in 13 seconds or less than a mile ? I don't think so ..IMO ...

Time will tell...but keep in mind that if he rolled from north of 100 mph in 2nd, it is very possible. Plenty of bikes can run over 200, in 9/10th's of a mile, from a low speed roll. Prep is a big key. And the rider in this vid is "probably" well-known to be highly skilled.

We will see .. If it faster than the BMW i'll be all over it like a hobo on a ham samwich ... If i buy one it would be just my luck in 2012 they come out with a zx15+ and i would be stuck with a liter bike that i hate .. ____________

Well i don't think that will ever see that happen ... Hell you don't see any zx10s at the track and we all know they sold 100 times more zx10s than BMW 1000rr...
