Any ZX-14 riders/racers using Amsoil? I've been thinking about using it but want to make sure it will not make my clutch slip!
Anyone????

Hey I can answer this one to! but it's not the same answer some others have gave. I hate the stuff and will never run it again. clutch was black in one friday night test and tune which was 20 passes. with mobile one car oil I get over 300 to 400 passes and the clutch looks like new might have to replace one or two fibers.

I've been running it in my bike for the past year or so. No problems what so ever. If you buy the motorcycle oil why would you be worried about your clutch slipping?????????????

Amsoil m/c specific oil is MA1/MA2 spec oil. The "M" specs for m/c (even some auto/diesel oils meet this spec)oils relates to the oil's co-efficient of friction in relation to that oil's affect on the clutch pack.
"MB" oils are the oils MOST likely to allow clutch slippage, and are not recommended for wet clutch engines.
The original "MA-1" spec specified a higher co-effiecient of friction for wet clutch use. The newer "MA-2" spec allows for an even higher level of friction in the clutch pack, further reducing the chance of clutch slippage over the MA-1.
This shows how the additives in the oil are part of the "stew" that ultimately determines the overall performance of that oil.
I have said in the past...if you put some good oil in your skoot and the clutch starts to slip, then you just put some good stuff in there. Keep the oil and fix the clutch. This may not be 100% accurate these days so when i get a skoot in the shop with a slipping clutch i seek to learn of the driving habits of the owner, oil used and how aften it has been changed, clutch adjustments taken care of, etc.

Have been using it since bike came of the dealer's floor in '06. 65,000 miles with no clutch issues at all.

Never made my clutch slip just turned it black after one night, If I keep running it my clutch life would have dropped by more then half.

Nope, just stock motor nothing changed except the oil. Checked my clutch before the switch and then again after that night. steels and fibers where turning black. went back to the old oil and problem gone. just my expereince but it was bad enough I won't run it if it's free.

I had approx 400 passes on my clutch and at least last 80-100 on amsoil. I only have one witness to how those clutches looked. Ask Chad.
I will continue to run amsoil, it's worth the &!

Well Guys I'm not going to quote everyone, but I think we all know my clutch hand is pretty good considering I get over 400 passes out of a Busa or zx 14 clutch and I did have Brocks springs in the bike I'm talking about. And yes just a simple oil chnage did blacken the fibers in one eve. nothing else changed. for you guys having good luck with it keep using it!. I stick to mobil one. the guy that sold me the amsoil saw my clutch before and after and was surprised to.

I run Mobil 0w20 and have good results as well! My oil looks clean every time I change the oil even though my clutches are black. I will stick with Mobil 1.
