make it more drag race friendly. who cares about the other stuff, buy a 10 or buy a touring bike.

Hey, I respect you 1/4 mile guys, and love reading about your mods and your experiences, and love sitting on the sidelines during your debates. And I have no doubt you influence Kawi and, even more so, the after-market guys.
BUT, not all 14 owners are straight liners. I use mine to tour, and I love it. It will cary the extra weight without flinching; it will cruise at 100 mph all day without breaking a sweat; it's comfortable; for what it's capable of, it's light. When I'm touring, I stick to the secondary, twisty roads, as much as possible, and the 14 sticks to the corners like a cat on velcro. And if I am droning along an Interstate for hours on end, and getting bored, I can always twist the right wrist.

"buy a touring bike" ? The ZX14 is the greatest touring bike on the market (well, other than the tickets).

I did a 6,000 mile tour of Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Cali, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah (coming from Alberta, Canada) this past summer. I had a fantastic time, and the 14 performed flawlessly (well except for a flat rear tire- in the middle of nowhere).

Love.

+1, I agree the racers benefit all of us, but I don't understand why it's necessary to beat down the touring riders like they're even in the same game. We are not the reason the 14 is what it is.

Redesign or not, this bike is cats-ass the way it sits........to produce a machine that you can fairly comfortably tour on, be a daily rider, handles well on a roadcourse, and makes one of the best drag platforms right outta the crate? Hard to complain about IMO........but there's always room for some kind of improvement with most anything out there, I believe that 5 years ago Kaw struck gold with this ride

Hellmut i agree. as an original 2006 owner this bike has been dependable, exciting, and performs well in all arenas. I have replaced a valve cover gasket, a battery, clutch and brake fluid, radiator fluid in the 4+ years I have had it. It runs and dynoes like new today. Greatest bike I have owned and I have been riding since '76. My second favorite was my '80 CBX but the 14 is even smoother.

If it only got one upgrade I would pick the secondary injectors like the Busa got in 08. 8 is better than 4!

I've wondered for a long time when somebody would come out with a V6 production bike.

That thing looks pretty wicked. If they can make it reliable, I would think that witha a fairing it would easily do 200 MPH right out of the box.

Wonder if it'll ever be produced?

This is definitely right up the "street fighter" ally they love overseas.........it isn't nearly as popular here in the states but over in Europe they love a naked, brutally powerful motorcycle.
That thing is pretty trick looking.........seems like it could stretch your arms a bit
