Screw off. I use to own a 14 before I got my 6r. It's not the Holy Grail of motorcycling like you want to believe. Not everyone rides in a fucking straight line all the time. Anyone can use 300hp bikes when all you have to do is pin the throttle and keep it straight.
Shows how much you know. You won't be missed, I promise.

I've got 100 bucks that says you can't use all 160hp that a zx14 makes at the drag strip. Just because you owned a zx14 doesn't mean you could ride it to it's full potential. Shit... I've got a good clutch hand and can't max out it's potential.

I just so happen to have a 330hp zx14 you can ride if you think your balls have dropped, its 60" long WITH NO BOOST CONTROLLER!!!!!!! but that wont make a difference for you im sure, because its SO easy to twist the gas and press a button to shift right??
Have you ever been on a bike that traps in the 160s on 1 wheel and your in and out of the gas trying not to loop it out??? Its not as easy as it looks.

BMW is rolling out 1600 CC's for 2011, since Kawi isn't doing much against their litre bike maybe they'll note that one

Keep in mind that IF a new zx14 was coming out in 2012 it would be in the tooling production stages right now.
So this thread is really about 1-2 years too late.
yeah what he said. The thing is that Kaw seems to be bragging about keeping the 14 motor narrow? Who road races a 14?.The thing is if they would've put a quarter each more meat in between each cylinder making the motor three quarters of an inch wider and move the transmission a quarter inch away from the crank it would've made all the difference in the world. You're always hearing about some busa seting a world record then you find out their 2000cc. Kaw needs To give us a break. The fact is this! why should I go down and buy a new 14 when it's the same old game. Not that it's not good it's great. But new plastic won't do it for me. And for the guys that like to wander out into the deep water the sharks are big! I think Kaw knows what they're doing with Holden the limits on the motor so they can sell bigger ones in the future? And I understand puting millions of dollars in R&D to have the federal government say "you can't sell that bike here". but as they're doing with the 10 they could give us something to work with. Ken

I agree Ken.
The zx14 sales could have been better if they had designed the bike more after-market friendly.
Give us room for bore, stroke, and big cams!!!

It sad that Kaw people lurk on this board but won't listen to people in regards to making the 14 more aftermarket friendly.Brock told them it was a great bike but the frame design is very limiting.Jim has mentioned the engine not having an ideal bore spacing that makes boring and cylinder sealing an issue, along with seemingly taking a step back with the cylinder head(the 12 has a better flowing head). Kaw has me scratchin my head because yeas ago they thumbed their noses or so it seemed at regulators and they bowed right down to them with the new ZX10..choppin its balls off just like they did with the ZX12...they could have captured lightning in a bottle with a totally unrestricted 12 but they caved in,and they had a chance again with the new ZX10 but caved in again..no balls!! BMW is now the company who thumbs their noses at gov't regs. Fish is right about Kaw.they have no problem exploiting this board for hype(free advertising) but they have the balls to censor us here. We are Kaw friendly and they should be kissin our asses.WHEN WILL THEY WAKE UP?

.. Thomas Edison made the first light bulb but it had a problem , it would not burn out .. Thomas Edison said how the hell i'm i going to sell this things if they never burn out .. His biggest problem was coming up with a light bulb that would last 1500 hours so he could sell you a new one .. In order for Kawi to keep you coming back they hold back on all the goodies .. They give us an inch and we buy it , next fews years they give us another inch and again we buy it ..
Have any of you guys kept up with the C14 ? First few years the C14 owners stated their dislikes right here on Bikeland... Low and behold a Gen 2 C14 with all the dislikes removed .. Kawi is reading your dislikes of the zx14 just like they did with the C14 ... I myself have no dislikes for the zx14 .. BUT i would like a few up grades , Bigger engine , more power and some small styling changes ..I'd bet money Kawi has a new zx? in R&D as i type this ... When Kawi feels the zx14 is played out or Zooky is ready to jump to a all new Busa mother Kawi will pull the trigger ..Will that be 2012 ? Well that is the 6 millon dollar question is it not ..
The Guys at Kawi must think us in the US are fucking out of our minds ...I can just hear them now " We gave them crazy Americans a 8 second bike with just a few aftermarket bolt ons and they want MORE ? " Well that would be us crazy Americans , we allways want bigger , faster and off the wall crazy shit .. Now give us what we want and shut the fuck up ..

I KNOW its been said before but I would love to see Kawasaki build a 1500cc, 225 RWHP Eliminator dragracing bike thats less than 500 pounds with a 67 inch wheelbase that looks mean like the Vmax but actually backs it up on the drapstrip by breaking into the 8's stock...........the 900 Elimiator was awesome back in the day and a 1500 with more than double the horsepower would be an awesome bike.

apparently we're to Kawasaki what Wikileaks is to Obama. Proved that with the 2011 10R, Apparently according to most people we've spoken to, you're not anyone in the industry til you've been strong-armed and blackmailed.
I'm pleased to report that after the 10R release, we have finally "arrived" LOL

I work for a car company here in Alabama. We start seeing the next generation of a vehicle 2 years before it hits the production lines. You would be FIRED on the spot for taking a picture of it and if they found out you were talking about it to the public. Most of the time the ones they test are tapped up and have foam under the tape to hide the bodylines. But in those big secret white rooms you go in they have the real deal running test and checking/measuring everything. Plant 1 is getting ready to be re-tooled for the next gen. starting in 2014. So I am sure Kaw does the same. But I think they put most of there devolpement in the 1000 and 600cc class now. It's kind of like the cold war with the big bikes. With new laws and people sue happy I don't see anything but maybe some slight redesign like they did on the Busa (still the same frame) of maybe Bold BNG. We will just have to mod them ourselfs and share the info.

Those bikes are tour bikes only rated at 160hp and weigh a ton ! I don't think Kawi will take note on that at all.

same with Toyota in TX and BMW in SC and VW Chattanooga the plant isn't built out yet but a 2 year out car is in their basement room with a sheet on it.
in detroit they're still trying to figure out how to unscrew what they've already put on the streets
