Differences in '06 & '08 heads
I picked up a Muzzy titanium M14 header for my '06 ZX-14 . When I tried to install it I found that the flange on the pipes were too large to fit into the '06 head. After turning those down and getting the header to fit on the head, I find that the header is hitting the front of the oil pan . It looks like I need .400 " for the header to clear the oil pan.
After looking at the Muzzy page , I see the titanium M14 header listed for '08-'10 , but other headers are listed for '06-'10... All of Brocks headers are showing for '06-'09 ...
has anyone looked close enought at the 2 different heads side by side to see if the exhaust ports are cast differently ? Are there any other differences ? I have read that '08 cams have a smaller base circle , that the intake ports are shaped different and that the clean air system has larger openings...
Anyone have any good info ??? I would guess the guys doing CNC work would have some details ...

I have an 08 and 06 head sitting in the floor. Just "eyeballing" the exhaust port castings, they look the same to me.
There was a time that the entire M14 line was listed only for '08 and up. But I had no problem fitting the stainless one to my '07, and Muzzy later changed their website to reflect use on all models.
I didn't think they made an M14 in Ti. I thought all of their Ti headers were the old design. An easy way to tell is if the midpipe is all 2.25", or tapers down to meet the collector.

yeah , but the titanium one doesn't fit ,,,, how much clearance did you have between the header and the oil pan ?
there is a ProStock M14 that claims to have more ground clearance ...
maybe that is what I ended up with ???

The Prostock M14 is the sidewinder. I had no clearance issues that I recall...but that has been 2 years ago...

I just looked, Muzzy does make a M14 4/2/1 in Titanium. 2006/2010 part# 1014-00264
did not see a picture to see if the bends are like my stainless M14 (Shanes old system) on my 2007.)
Roy does it have a O2 threaded port? And exit like a standard full system. Not the Sidewinder exit. Muzzy etches what system it is on the ends of the collectors and the inlet of the mid pipe. Clean it and look M14 F/S ZX-14 sounds like to me you have a different Ninja system.
EDit
part# 1014-00048 M14 2008/2010 Pro Stock Series............... does Muzzy open up the exhaust ports
on a Race Engine???

As far as the ports go, they are the same.
The air injection port in the exhaust ports was revised a little but it has no effect on performance etc.

thanks for the info ... I am not sure what I have , except that it is titanium .... It has the correct spacing for the zx14, and the flanges are correct for the studs .... but it must be for a bike with a dry sump ...

Roy use some carb cleaner and look for the Muzzy etchings for what system it is.
Look on the inlet of the silencer and on the O.D. of the mid pipe inlet.
